Call of Duty's New Archie's Frenzy Event is broken for some players
With Call of Dutys recently concluded Merry Mayhem event, players were eager to jump into Archie's Festival Frenzy on December 19, but some players were left disappointed after a serious bug allowed them to unlock all of the event's rewards. On Reddit, various users are sharing similar posts about how they started the event with thousands of Jolly Archies already available. For reference, the most expensive reward in the event only costs 50 Jolly Archies, but one player started with well over 20,000, meaning they could unlock every cosmetic item and new weapon in an instant.
However, not everyone is affected by this bug. While some report starting the event with thousands of Jolly Archies, others, like RMennie, say they started with nothing. The glitch also appears to have divided the community, with some saying they are glad they won't have to grind over the holiday season, while others said they are “looking forward to the gate”. In total there are 14 rewards for Call of Duty's Archie's Festival Frenzy event, where the final reward is the all-new Sniper Rifle. So for players who weren't lucky enough to experience this event-ruining bug, there are two weeks left to unlock all of the event's rewards.
Since its release on October 25, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has hosted several in-game events, with many of them allowing users to unlock brand new weapons. However, one of the game's first events caused controversy as Black Ops 6 players can pay to unlock the event's new weapons early. The Sirin 9mm SMG was supposed to give players a reason to grind the Hit List event, but shortly after the event began, Activision added a new pack to the game store with a blueprint for the Sirin 9mm, which allowed users to unlock the base weapon instantly.
