Spring-loaded Run Walkthrough (all VIP bots)

Spring-Loaded Run is the third of five DLC stages for Team Asobi Astro Bot. Much like the two before Astro Bot speed-running stages, there are two VIP bots in the Spring-Loaded Run, which players can save by completing the course before the two colored birds reach the finish line.

Astro Bot DLC Release Schedule

Astro Bot fans will get access to five free DLC scenes over the coming months, with new scenes released every week between October 17th and November 14th.

Beating the blue bird's time should be relatively easy, but getting to the end of the stage before the red bird can be a bit tricky. Thankfully, this Spring-Loaded Run walkthrough includes an optimized route, as well as information on the two Cameo Bots that Astro Bot players can unlock.

How to complete spring loaded driving

The key to quickly beating the Spring-Loaded Run stage is to avoid unnecessary jumps and hovers. Thankfully, the start-up of the Frog Gloves can extend surprisingly far, so players should aim to grab the red beams from the ground rather than mid-air. There are also a couple of places where players can simply walk around wooden barrels instead of actually destroying them, which can help shave off a second or two.

The first place where players can save a decent chunk of time is when they get to the four stacked wooden barrels. Instead of breaking them all, they should jump and punch the center of the stack on the right, which will destroy both barrels and drop the blue springboard. If they time it right, they can hit the springboard in the air and then throw in a spin shot to get to the next springboard without having to jump again.

Other than that, the best places to save time are the two sections where the players ascend with the red beams. By pulling back on the analog stick when they reach the far side, they'll be able to use Astro's momentum to quickly change direction, allowing them to grab the next red beam a little faster than they normally would. Assuming they can master this move, players should have no problem unlocking the scene's two VIP bots.

Spring loaded Run Cameo Bots

Beating the blue bird's time (55 seconds) will unlock the Holy Knight Cameo Bot, which is based on Ky Kiske from Guilty Gear franchise. If players can beat the red bird's time (70 seconds), they'll unlock another one Helldiver from Helldivers 2with both VIP bots appearing at the Crash Site after they are rescued. Assuming players have already obtained the one-way shuttle after completing Building Speed, there will be no Gatcha Lab item for Helldiver, but they can obtain the Thunder Blade (or Thunderseal, as it is called in Guilty Gear) for Ky Kiske.
