Space Marine 2 is getting a big new update later this month

Fans of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marines 2 will have more to look forward to in a few weeks, thanks to a big upcoming update. Saber Interactive teased the next round of new content for Space Marines 2 in a post addressed to society.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marines 2 is already a huge hit, breaking sales milestones and establishing itself as arguably the most popular Warhammer 40,000 video games so far. Developer Saber Interactive is well aware of that fact and is acting to solidify it Space Marines 2s reputation with fans by promising regular updates and new content. Just a week ago, the third major Space Marines 2 the update brought a number of improvements to online multiplayer, as well as tweaks to balance both PVP and PVE games.

However, Saber Interactive isn't done with the game yet. In a new community update posted to Space Marines 2 official website and via the game's Steam store page, the studio teased a number of new additions coming in October 2024, including a new map for Space Marines 2 Operating mode. Operations are cooperative multiplayer missions that pit a group of three Space Marines against hordes of enemies in pursuit of various mission objectives.

Devs Promise New Operation in Space Marine October 2, 2024 Update

Saber Interactive's post teased a few details regarding what's to come Space Marines 2 Operating mode map. The map will be set on the forested planet of Kadaku, a world almost completely conquered by the Tyranid swarm. Players will take on the role of Space Marines sent to aid the Cadian Astra Militarum regiments still holding the planet and make the inevitable Tyranid victory on Kadaku “as painful as possible.” The post also included a screenshot of Kadaku, showing a corrupt forest overgrown with fleshy tyranid structures, with the alien capillary towers rising in the distance.

Besides the new Operation tease, the Space Marines 2 the community update also promised a free 4K texture pack DLC for PC players with powerful hardware to take advantage of, hotfixes to resolve crash issues and additional Space Marines 2 armor customization features, like new color options for helmet lenses. Overall, the new operation and additions seem to coincide somewhat with “Season 2” at Saber Interactives Space Marines 2 road map. Also listed on the roadmap are teases for a new “Deadly” difficulty level, a Neo-Volkite Pistol weapon, and a new enemy. The roadmap doesn't list when the updates will roll out, but given the timing of the new Operation update, it's safe to assume they'll roll out in October.

Saber Interactive seems to be taking the right steps to cement Space Marines 2 and that Space Marine the series as a whole into a new pillar of Warhammer 40,000 game adaptations. With consistent support, it could become a staple in online action games moving forward.
