The Elder Scrolls 6 can do a lot to atone for the sins of Skyrim's civil war
The Elder Scrolls 6 has the chance to correct some of the common criticisms of Skyrim's handling of the Civil War story.
Redditor Monseigneur_Beee has used the barrels outside Skyrim's Warmaiden's in Whiterun as free storage. They use the left barrel for hides, leather, and horn, while the right is reserved for ores, gems, and miscellaneous items. It's a smart solution that allows them to avoid using up followers' carrying weight for these items, and they can store their more valuable items in a chest at home. Since the Warmaiden's are right near the fast travel point of Whiterun, using these barrels gives them pretty quick access to their items as well.
Skyrim Player uses Whiterun's Barrels as free storage
A user pointed out in the thread that storing items in random barrels i Skyrim is riskybecause they have a 30-day respawn timer in the game. However, this timer is reset every time the player enters the cell the barrel is in. This essentially means that the player must enter Whiterun in Skyrim once every 30 in-game days to ensure their items don't disappear for good. Since Whiterun is something of a hub in the Skyrimit's hard to imagine this would ever be a real problem, though it's worth being aware of for any player planning to follow in Monseigneur_Beee's footsteps.
While players continue to enjoy Skyrim, The Elder Scrolls 6 is one of the upcoming RPG games that players are most excited about. The long-awaited sequel was announced all the way back in 2018, and even Bethesda itself would likely admit that it jumped a bit there. News about the title has been very hard to come by over the years, but hopefully here Starfield now largely out of the way, next year might be the time for Bethesda to start talking more openly about The Elder Scrolls 6.
