Hollow Knight: Silk Song is still a long-awaited Metroidvania platformer that to this day still lacks any news about its development and release. Aside from sharing a few tidbits of information over the years, Team Cherry has been tight-lipped about the game's production. Still, this allows the developer to work on the title without too much pressure or worry about not meeting expectations, giving the time needed to produce something amazing. However, one thing Silk song can do to capitalize on its development time in a big way is to include a feature from the original, one that would be a costly mistake if left in the past.
Team Cherry has ensured that the extent of Hollow Knight: Silk Song will be bigger than its predecessor, with new enemies, a bigger world and many other things to look forward to. However, this does not mean that the sequel should not consider taking what made the first game so well received by fans. One of the features that Team Cherry should consider returning to Silk song is the Colosseum of Fools. It's an arena where the protagonist can participate in trials that offer great rewards, and having it in the sequel would be a sensible choice to make, considering how well it would fit into the game.

Hollow Knight: Silksong should dig up a piece of cut content from its predecessor
Hollow Knight: Silksong's predecessor has content that might just make it to the sequel with the right explanations.
Why Colosseum of Fools would fit perfectly in Silksong
The supposed enormity of Silk song would make it perfect for adding something like Colosseum of Fools to their world. But aside from the extent of the realm that players get to explore, there are more reasons why the structure should be in the sequel, such as:
- More characters and enemies means a variety of opponents for the Hornet to potentially face in battle, making the mystery something for players to look forward to
- The number of new enemies expected for Silk song would mean the new colosseum could go further than the 3 attempts of the original, allowing for an even more challenging experience
- Hornet being more acrobatic means the level design of the structure should fit well with her skills and movement ability, allowing the development team to come up with new and creative layouts
Adding something like Colosseum of Fools is one way Silk song to gain some goodwill with their fans, as long as it is properly implemented in the game. Team Cherry should strongly consider putting the structure into the sequel, as not doing so would mean missed opportunities that would improve the gameplay.
What Silksong can do with their own version of Colosseum of Fools
Silksong is able to exploit a gold mine that its predecessor did not with Colosseum of Fools, and that is by providing trials that have nothing to do with combat. Aside from fighting enemies, one of the biggest draws to Hollow Knight are its platform aspects. While the previous game had levels that tested one's platforming skills, there was no unique location that players could constantly return to that would help polish it, making Colosseum of Fools the perfect location that it should have been.
Even if that didn't happen, the sequel would be the best time to add such attempts, especially since the Hornet is considered more agile and acrobatic than The Knight. Again, this brings back the reason for allowing the development team to come up with creative level designs, placing the new sequel's potential coliseum in one of the prime points of interest in the game.
When Silk song returns, it can't come back empty-handed, meaning Team Cherry needs to make announcements that will satiate fans until the game's release. A new Colloseum of Fools would be a good start, as what it could have would help gain the interest of veterans and newcomers alike, and give the sequel a more challenging gameplay experience that people can choose to take.
