Lego Ideas is a program that allows anyone with an idea for a new Lego set to test their concept in front of those who decide what can be turned into toy bricks next. The next review period for these sets begins in January 2025, and a fan-made concept for a PlayStation 2 made of Lego has received enough support in time to be officially considered by the Lego Review Board.
In order for a set submitted through Lego Ideas to be considered for mass creation and distribution, it must first receive 10,000 supporters. That's why it's not enough to just submit an idea for something you think would make a cool Lego set. You need to create models that show what it will look like and detail how exactly Lego can make the set a reality. Sure, a PS2 made out of Lego would be cool, but it needed someone with the vision of how to possibly make it happen to garner enough support to officially get Lego's attention.

Lego is rumored to be working on a $1,000 Death Star set to be released in 2025
If the leak is real, it will be the most expensive Lego set to date.
RippleDrive is the talented creator whose Lego PS2 concept will be officially considered by Lego in 2025 (thanks, The Brick Fan). Their Lego PS2 is 2,111 pieces and modeled after the original version of the console, not the slimmed down version that came later. It comes with a matching Lego controller and two memory cards that can be inserted into their corresponding slots, just like the real thing.
A Lego PS2 concept has hit 10,000 supporters
It's enough for Lego to officially consider making it a reality
The set's disc tray can be opened, and the pictures even show the inside of the Lego console. What's not pictured, but mentioned in the description, are the seven orbs you'll find on the inside of the controller. A tip of the hat to the orbs you see on the PS2's home screen. The set hit 10,000 supporters on December 27, 2024, meaning it came in just below the wire for consideration during Lego's upcoming review period.
Lego will consider many things when reviewing the set, including how feasible it would be to turn it from a concept to reality, assessing playability and whether it is in line with the Lego brand. The biggest potential stumbling block for the set-up will be whether PlayStation wants to play ball. While Lego loves the idea, it can't make a PS2 set without PlayStation giving the go-ahead.
There is a working relationship between PlayStation and Lego, so there is certainly a chance. Lego Horizon Adventures is less than two months old, and there's a new Lego Horizon set coming in 2025. PlayStation might also like the idea of its best-selling console being turned into a toy because its rivals are ahead of the game in that regard. Nintendo has a Lego NES set, and the Xbox 360 was turned into a Mega set by Mattel.
PlayStation 2
The PlayStation 2 was launched in 2000, and during its twelve-year lifespan it became the most successful console ever, with over 155 million units shipped. This was thanks to a strong library of games, from series including Grand Theft Auto, Gran Turismo. Final Fantasy and Metal Gear Solid.
