Pokemon Winds and Waves leaks new evolution for Salandit

Pokemon winds and waves has been hit by several leaks recently, and one included details of a new evolution for the Salandit, also mentioning its new type combination. Pokemon winds and waves will reportedly be some of the biggest games ever made in the series, if not the biggest overall. Gen 10 will feature underwater exploration, according to leaks and based on the official teaser trailer for Pokemon winds and waves. The games will also feature a new combat gimmick based on weather, new raids and tons of animals.

One of the biggest leaks to date is that Pokemon winds and waves' The Pokedex will have 530 Pokémon, 300 of which are new, and the games will reportedly have MMO-like features that were to be built upon before being scrapped. Many of the previous leaks from Teraleak 2025 have already been confirmed by the reveal trailer, so it's easy to believe that the MMO approach, the large environment (which was supposed to have procedural generation for the islands) and the Legendaries box have a big role in the story. Now a new leak has surfaced about Salandit, and it could be very interesting.

Pokemon winds and waves will have a poison/dragon evolution for Salandit

Centro Leaks shared leaks from two sources, including the infamous Billy, who predicted Pokémon FRLG ports, and among them was a mention of Salandit getting a Poison/Dragon regional evolution in Gen 10. This is potentially a big deal for a few reasons. One is that there are komodo dragons in Southeast Asia, the real inspiration for Gen 10, and a komodo dragon Pokémon in Pokemon winds and waves seems extremely likely.

Not only that, but among the brand new leaked Pokemon Pokemon winds and wavesthere was also a three-stage komodo ware, probably a pseudo-legendary. There's a chance this is Salandit's cross-generational evolution, but it could also mean they're two different pocket monsters. A Poison/Dragon evolution for Salandit is good regardless, since the type combo isn't used much at all. The only Poison/Dragon Pokémon in the series are Dragalge, Eternatus, and Naganadel, one of which is a Legendary and the other an Ultra Beast. This could also be a chance to make a male evolution for Salandit to compensate for its female evolution, Salazzle.

It is unclear whether Salandit himself will bring in a regional form Pokemon winds and wavesbut in that case, it might be interesting to see a new spin on the animal's design. A Poison/Dragon evolution for this Pokemon isn't hard to believe, since it's already a Poison/Fire creature, and it could very well fit the Gen 10 setting.

Pokemon winds and waves will have the largest region ever, if leaks are to be believed, and with potentially 300 new Pokémon, it would make sense to add new cross-generational evolutions and regional forms. Salazzle is rarely used in competition, so giving more love to Salandit and its evolution line might be what the Pokémon needs.
