More evidence has emerged that Silent Hill 2 remake may finally be coming to Xbox. The remake is one of PS5's best console exclusive titles, and since that exclusivity ended on October 8th, Silent Hill 2 fans have been hoping for news on the Xbox release.

The Silent Hill 2 remake launched on PS5 and PC on October 8, 2024 and was one of the fastest selling versions of Silent Hill franchise. The game has sold over 2.5 million copies and accounts for almost 25% of all Silent Hill sales over time. Now that the exclusivity for PlayStation has ended, the numbers can rise by releasing the game to more platforms.

A search on the ESRB website for Silent Hill 2 now showing a new post containing the ratings summary for the Xbox Series platform. This is a major clue to the game being released for the Xbox Series family of consoles. The expectation of Silent Hill 2 remake coming to other platforms has been high thanks to the end of PC and PS5 exclusivity, and this new entry into the ESRB adds fuel to that fire. As of now, there is no entry for a Nintendo platform release.

While Xbox fans of Silent Hill perhaps celebrating the potential future release, those who have played it on PC and PS5 are still hoping for an announcement of the Born from a Wish DLC. Rumors of the DLC began circulating in June, but voice actress Salóme Gunnarsdóttir, who voiced Maria in the 2001 parallel story, publicly commented that she has not recorded anything for the release. While her comments don't completely dismiss the DLC rumors, it has kept fans of the series in the dark about updated content going forward. Bloober Team has not commented on the Xbox or DLC releases.
