Oda has officially hinted at Imu's Real Devil Fruit

One Piece's The Elbaf arc has done the impossible by introducing the strongest character, Imu, as the main antagonist, and fans are not entirely sure what direction the story will take now. Right now, Oda is exploring Loki's past and his full flashback is slowly being revealed to fans.

But once the flashback is over, the story will once again focus on the major battles centered around Imu. Fans have already seen a good glimpse of Imu's powersand it goes without saying that they have one powerful Devil Fruit ability at their disposal. Indeed, Oda has already hinted heavily Imu's true powers.

Hardly anyone One Piece fans were hoping for Imu to step in as One Piece's main villain in Elbafand Oda really shocked readers when it actually happened. Even right now fans are having a hard time believing that Imu is on Elbaf and that One Piece's main antagonist will actually fight Luffy in what would be a prelude to the great war that will inevitably break out soon enough in the world.

What makes this upcoming battle even more exciting than it already is, is the fact that they will feature a battle of gods. Just like Luffy is the sun god Nika, even Imu has a God's powermost likely through a Devil Fruit. Oda brought this up very well when Imu arrived in Elbaf. The Imu themselves said that they will show everyone in Elbaf the power of a God. This at least confirms that Imu has godlike powers.

Imu can use the power of evil

Just as Sanji uses the power of love, it seems that Imu can use the power of evil. In other words, Imu's Devil Fruit ability is directly linked to demons and evil. This is why Imu can do things like turn people into her demonic puppets and even make them stronger. This strength also comes from the power of evil, again showing that Imu is the devil himself.

Looking at Imu's design also makes it pretty clear that they are a demonic creature at their core. Imu has black wings and a pointed tailtogether with a trident. This may now be their true form, but at least it is a manifestation. By putting all these clues together, it's easy to piece together what Devil Fruit Imu has.

Imu could have Leviathan Devil Fruit

Oda has already revealed many clues about Imu's abilityand the best guess would be that they have the Leviathan power. This is a demonic sea serpent whose mouth is the abyss (the same as the mark used by Imu), and it can also give and take souls, similar to Imu, who can grant immortality and take a portion of the lifespanor the soul itself. If Oda has already revealed Imu's fruit then definitely The Leviathan ability.

One Piece Chapter 1163 is out in two weeks. As usual, One Piece will be released on Sunday. In Japan, One Piece releases at 12pm JST on Monday.
