Animal Crossing: New Horizons Player shows off impressive graffiti
This demographic also includes Reddit user Boomstick80, who recently shared a motley assortment of in-game graffiti they've created using the Custom Designs app. The batch contains a total of 20 images, of which the vast majority are images Animal Crossing: New Horizons villagers and other characters in some pretty interesting scenarios. For example, the first graffiti in the set shows the always adorable Stitches throwing up a rainbow after eating a colorful cupcake, followed by an artwork of Tom Nook shooting Banzai Bill at Mario.
Guns are a recurring motif in Boomstick80's recently shared street art, which also includes a depiction of Kiki dual-wielding pistols and Sasha armed with two assault rifles and a disarming smile on her face. The artist also seems to be biased towards Animal Crossing: New Horizons' Stitches, which appears in two more graffiti in addition to the rainbow-screaming artwork. In the first, the bear cub is seen marching in a Stormtrooper helmet, with his X-shaped eyes visible through the visor. The second shows Stitches sitting on the ground in an adorable shark costume.
Some of the other graffiti from this set includes Raymond smoking a cigarette in a red hoodie, Timmy and Tommy Nook posing in superhero costumes, and Brewster poking his head through a half-eaten slice of bread. Boomstick80 also wrote some slightly morbid images, such as their depiction of Orville swallowing one of the Nook twins while the other watches in desperation, and several graffiti of Zipper T. Bunny wielding a chainsaw. Their artwork of Pennywise holding a red balloon next to the message “you will float too” is also part of this creepy subset.
Boomstick80's in-game graffiti appeared on the front page of the series' largest subreddit in mid-October 2024, drawing praise from many fans. Elaborating on his creative process, the artist explained that the vast majority of images span 16 tiles, meaning they didn't have enough Animal Crossing: New Horizons custom design spaces to store them all. Instead, they would first sketch the designs in a mobile pixel art app called Dots, then recreate them in-game, deleting their old artwork when they ran out of space and wanted a change.
