Whether you're a Disney Lorcana card collector hoping to add some extra sparkle to your deck, or for any reason really, it's nice to have the knowledge in your back pocket of which cards are most valuable. And Sapphire has some real gems to choose from.
Some powerful and fan-favorite characters have called the Sapphire deck their home and have had some beautiful and collectible cards made in their honor. From some of the most beloved princesses to ruthless villains, finding any of these cards could put some big bucks in your pockets or make your opponents' jaws drop.
This list is based on the average market price displayed on TCGPlayer.
10 Gramma Tala, Spirit Of The Ocean (Enchanted) – $46.84
Set Three, Into The Inklands
Gramma Tala is well known to lovers of the blue card suite. Gramma Tala, Storyteller, was one of her first cards that introduced her to Lorcana, and it is still used and has remained a proven addition to many decks.
In fact, it's one of the best cards to have with her Spirit of the Ocean variant because Storyteller is a low cost card to have as a shift option. And the sooner you can get Gramma Tala, Spirit of the Ocean into play, the better, as her ability will only strengthen you and your pieces by giving you more ink to use.
A character with shift means that they can be brought into play early if they are “shifted” or played on top of a card of the same name, unless a card says otherwise.
9 King Candy, Sweet Abomination (Enchanted) – $63.54
Set five, shimmering sky
Well, isn't this a sweet treat? King Candy has all of his monstrous qualities on display in his enchanted artwork, the version of him only seen at the end of Wreck-It Ralph. He's another shift card that looks to come into the game early, but his ability is useful even if you miss the opportunity to get him in on turn three.
That said, his value will decrease in the game as his Strength and Willpower at three can be handled by your opponents more easily on turn five. But the two cards drawn can still help you get everything in your hand that you need to finish the match with a win.
8 Sisu, Divine Water Dragon (Enchanted) – $66.28
Set Two, Rise Of The Floodborn
It is rarer to have a Storyborn character that is as highly valued financially as some of the enchanted Floodborn characters, such as Gramma Tala and King Candy. But Sisu finds a way, as a popular chaos might say. That should speak to her value on the board.
When searching with Sisu, you can look at the top two cards in your deck. You can then put one in your hand and one at the bottom of the deck. This means she can give you card draw every turn she plays. Match her with some protection from a bodyguard or help her with Ward and you can control the tide of the game.
7 The Queen, Diviner (Enchanted) – $74.05
Set Four, Ursula's Return
Series four of Disney's Lorcana saw the emergence of some of the most popular villains. Next to the sea witch herself is the OG Disney witch, The Queen. Her Diviner variant is a strong option when you're running a deck that intends to use lots of items, which tends to happen a lot in a Sapphire deck.
She lets you look through the top four cards of your deck for items. If you find one, depending on its ink cost, you can move it to your hand or to the battlefield immediately. And even with that ability, her cost of three matching her Strength and Willpower means she's a solid card all around.
6 Scrooge McDuck, The World's Richest Duck (Enchanted) – $83.43
Set Three, Into The Inklands
This duck might be pretty damn offended if they saw they were selling for less than $100, but sellers and collectors of Lorcana cards would probably say that's a pretty fair price. Just don't let Scrooge McDuck hear anyone say that.
In the game he needs some important things to go his way. He gets Evasive during his turn, which is good for letting him attack and banish the other annoying and evasive characters. But his value can be affected if your opponent doesn't have or relies on Evasive as their way of getting through the game.
5 Anna, True Heart (Enchanted) – $95.70
Set Four, Ursula's Return
Anna's Floodborn appearance showcases her as a knight. The enchanted artwork shows her hurtling forward, unphased by anything in front of her, matching her fierce personality in the Frozen movies. And just as she is identified as a hero on this card, she works well with any hero in Lorcana.
How so? When Anna quests, any other heroes you have on the board can seek another lore that turn. So, if you're thinking of building a themed deck that revolves around the heroes of the Disney worlds and properties, Anna would be an important part of making it even stronger.
4 Alice, Growing Girl (Enchanted) – $142.45
Set Two, Rise Of The Floodborn
Oh, poor Alice can't catch a break in her movie or in the Lorcana game. This enchanted card art shows Alice trapped with her head and appendages forced through the windows of a home she can't get out of. But the card refers to Alice growing in strength, not just size.
Simply put, the more power you can give Alice through Support and other cards and effects in the game, the better she will be. When she has ten or more strengths, she can search for five lore instead of her standard one lore. So if you like the game's support mechanic, you need this Alice on your side.
3 Aurora, Dreaming Guardian (Enchanted) – $170.61
Set one, the first chapter
This is perhaps one of the most gorgeous cards in all of Lorcana, which may be one of the reasons why Aurora still has a solid footing when comparing card values, after so many other sets have been launched and enchanted cards have been released.
The other is her Protective Embrace ability, which Wards all characters on your side of the field. This can help you protect other cards that have abilities that stay active that your opponents will want to shut down as quickly as possible.
2 Belle, Strange But Special (Enchanted) – $229.29
Set one, the first chapter
Another princess and another First Chapter character who hasn't fallen out of favor when it comes to value is Belle. That is, while she may be a princess, she is the queen of the ramp in Lorcana. The sooner you can get ten inks in your inkwell, the faster you can win the game.
Ramp refers to how quickly you can fill up your inkwell, allowing you to play more costly characters and be able to play more cards.
It's all thanks to, well, both of her abilities, but the game-winning one is My Favorite Part! This allows her to search for five lore instead of one. But Read A Book helps you get to that part of the game because it lets you put an extra card into your inkwell every turn.
1 Mufasa, Ruler Of Pride Rock (Enchanted) – $267.28
Set five, shimmering sky
Move over princesses, there's a king in the castle. That castle is Pride Rock and home to Mufasa, who rules his lands justly. And awesome. This is a late game card as it costs eight ink to play. It works perfectly with his abilities.
When you first play Mufasa, you will lose some of the cards in your inkwell, giving you a little less action economy for a turn. But only while he dries. After that, when you search with him, you can prepare all exercised cards in your ink house. This means that if you quest with him after using up all the ink you can, you can use it all up again by summoning more characters or using items, actions and songs.
