MADINAH: Farmers in Medina have started harvesting dates as the palm fruit reached optimum maturity this agricultural season, Saudi Press Agency reported. The process of ripening date palms involves several steps, beginning with pollination and progressing to thinning, where excess fruit is removed to support optimal growth. The dates are carefully wrapped in palm leaves to protect them from the heat of the sun before they are harvested.
