A LEGO fan shared his new custom Goomba build from the 3-in-1 Playful Puppy set inspired by the iconic Super Mario enemy, including the free instructional video on YouTube. One of the advantages of LEGO is that fans can do whatever they want with the bricks, provided they have a vision and the pieces they need. This is such a core concept for the Danish company that not only are there MOC (My Own Creation) videos and posts online daily, but the LEGO Ideas brand comes directly from fans making unique sets and LEGO bringing them to life.
A good example is how a fan transformed LEGO D&D into a custom build with new monsters, and it was the same person who came up with the original LEGO D&D concept in the first place. So far, there have been several LEGOs Super Mario set, and while some include a small Goomba, no current release is entirely dedicated to the mushroom-like creatures. But for those interested in having an accurate and very cute Goomba build, that ends now, as one fan managed to turn a Creator set into Super Mario monster, and anyone can do the same with free instructions.
Custom LEGO Super Mario Goomba built from 3-in-1 playful doll set
A LEGO fan named Adept_Tap1790 shared a post on Reddit featuring his newly built Goomba from Super Mariowhich they built using the video instructions from YouTube content creator Atelier Piccolo. The build is seemingly very simple, yet extremely cute and detailed, using the puppy's sparkling eyes to make it even more realistic. On top of that, the build comes with a small flower made from the puppy's collar and legs, and one could argue that it resembles the Fire Flower from the Nintendo series.

This isn't the first custom build to come out of the LEGO 31382 Playful Puppy set, and it shows just how creative some fans can be. Another fan turned LEGO's 3-in-1 puppy set into two capybaras with free instructions, sharing the build on Reddit a while back. As for Atelier Piccolo, the build requires a total of 131 steps to assemble entirely from the parts of the 3-in-1 Playful Puppy set, and fans can watch the 5-minute video on their YouTube channel to do the build themselves. In addition to that, the Goomba can have different eyes for multiple facial expressions, again only using parts from the original set.
The avalanche of LEGO sets coming this year isn't stopping, and more Super Mario-related sets are on the way. For example, a new $200 Donkey Kong arcade LEGO set was leaked online. It's built like an old arcade machine, complete with Mario dodging barrels thrown at him by Donkey Kong, and it also comes with the iconic arcade controls. This is yet another set scheduled for August 1st, which will see a plethora of new additions to the LEGO store.
Still, MOCs will always have a huge following on social media platforms, as they can inspire something completely new, or they can make fans replicate something they see online. Recently a LEGO fan shared an incredible Bowser MOC from Super Marioand while there's an official set for the iconic villain, there's nothing stopping builders from making their own.
