IN Jujutsu KaisenGege Akutami has created an interesting world, with some compelling stories that include some of the biggest and most intense battles. Although the action for JJK has been nothing short of amazing, what has truly been the highlight of the franchise is its plot, which put it on the map. Much of this is due to the power system of Cursed Energy and Jujutsu.
In the long term, Jujutsu Kaisen has featured many powerful characters that use cursed energy, but only a few could be considered strong enough to be called a Jujutsu God. Originally, the two gods of Jujutsu were none other than Gojo Satoru, the world's strongest wizard, and Ryomen Sukuna, the king of curses. After the Shinjuku Showdown, two wizards cemented themselves as new gods, and they are Yuji Itadori and Yuta Okkotsu, Gojo's two great students. In the era that followed Sukuna's death, they reigned as pre-eminent wizards with unparalleled strength and mastery of Jujutsu. In many ways, they may even have surpassed their predecessors as well.
Yuji Itadori and Yuta Okkotsu are two new gods of Jujutsu after the Shinjuku Showdown
Jujutsu Kaisen by Gege Akutami had its beginning in 2018, and a few years after that, in 2023, the climax of the entire manga began after the Culling Game and the ending of Gojo Satoru. The final arc of Jujutsu Kaisen is known as the Shinjuku Showdown, and here the final battle against the King of Curses, Sukuna, took place. Gojo's death led to an all-out battle with the remaining wizards, which eventually ended in Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 268, which was released in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #40, September 1, 2024. After Sukuna's death in the Shinjuku Showdown, it was a new era, a new era, and a new era. magicians who stand out from the rest – Yuji Itadori and Yuta Okkotsu. The two of them were strong even before the Sukuna battle, but their power would only increase tenfold after that.
How Yuta became a jujutsu god in adulthood
Yuta Okkotsu began his wizarding journey as a special class wizard, which is practically unheard of. By killing Kenjaku, he gained Body Hopping, and in the fight against Sukuna, he acquired the Shrine. By switching bodies with Gojo, he potentially had Limitless imprinted on his brain.
In that sense, Yuta left the fight even stronger, and his status as one of the powerful was cemented in Modulo. IN Jujutsu Kaisen Modulothe sequel to Gege Akutami's original story, Yuta's immense strength was highlighted quite a bit. Yuta's cursed energy, which he stored for years, was so massive that it was used to cast a technique so powerful that it could rob humanity of its cursed energy. Rika, Yuta's cursed spirit, remained and is also still alive and well, possessing a new fusion power first seen with Tsurugi in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo chapter 17, which was released on January 5, 2026, in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump Double Issue #6-7. All of this proves that Yuta became a man worthy of being called the God of Jujutsu.
How Yuji Became a God of Jujutsu by Adulthood
Yuta aside, there's also Yuji to discuss. Yuji is the true main character of Jujutsu Kaisen, and although he had a humble beginning compared to Yuta, his strength increased by the end of Jujutsu Kaisen was massive. By fighting Sukuna, Yuji unlocked his own shrine, and he became the only character in Jujutsu Kaisen to launch Black Flashes on command as an adult. His soul crushing powers are also what finally kills Sukuna after a grueling battle.
Just like Yuta, Yuji also got massive scale-ups in Modulo. In this sequel, Yuji was shown to still be alive, as he was confirmed to have a body made of a half-cursed spirit. Yuji's power was revealed to have grown so enormously that he had gained complete control over blood manipulation, with which he could easily subdue an entire building filled with wizards. We also saw Yuji's upgraded Dismantle powers in Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo Chapter 22, from Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #12, February 16, 2026. In this chapter, Yuji is able to effortlessly launch a Dismantle on Mahito and defeat him without even breaking a sweat. Yuji's simple attacks are so destructive that they are even greater than Sukuna's ultimate attacks, showing that he has also become powerful enough to be considered a Jujutsu God.
Gojo Satoru and Ryomen Sukuna stood as the two former strongest gods in Jujutsu
Before the emergence of Yuta and Yuji, we had two other characters who were considered the Gods of Jujutsu. These characters were Gojo Satoru and Ryomen Sukuna. Gojo was blessed with the two coveted powers of the Gojo clan, 6 Eyes and Limitless, and with them he was almost unstoppable. On top of that, Gojo had the best display of RCT, which he used to reconstruct and destroy his own brain over and over again.
Sukuna, meanwhile, was a monster from the Heian era who ate his brother in the womb and became the king of curses. Sukuna's original body had 2 mouths and 4 arms, making him absolutely perfect for Jujutsu magic. These two clashed in a battle of the strongest in the Shinjuku Showdown, showcasing the full potential of this power system.
Dabura Karaba stands as the upcoming new God of Jujutsu in Modulo
IN Jujutsu Kaisen ModuloYuta Okkotsu is already dead. While Yuji is still alive, he wants to see the next generation grow strong and is already preparing to help them reach the top. With that being said, we have a new extremely overpowered character from Modulo that could qualify to be the next Jujutsu God. This character is none other than Dabura Karaba, King of the Simurians.
Dabura hails from a planet in Simuria, where Jujutsu Sorcery is extremely rudimentary, and yet, just by fighting Mahoraga, he was able to unlock all the secrets that humans had spent centuries honing. Dabura's techniques, Killing Intent and Light, are extremely powerful, so much so that he was able to nearly destroy Mahoraga and travel across the Earth at nearly the speed of light. Dabura's power even allowed him to go back to Earth, which is light years away from his planet at the end of the story. His innate talent makes him the next God in the JJK world, and we hope to see more of him in the future.
