- Takaba used his comic technique to potentially bring back a unique identity combining Geto and Kenjaku.
Jujutsu Kaisen ended after Ryomen Sukuna's defeat at the hands of Yuji Itadori. Fans saw several loose ends tied up in the final chapters of the series, and at the same time, the writer, Gege Akutami, confirmed the fate of several characters. Fans were absolutely thrilled to see the vast majority of the characters get a good ending, as hard as that might have been to believe a couple of years ago.

Jujutsu Kaisen: Why Sukuna's Return Makes Sense
Sukuna has the potential to return in JJK if the series ever gets a sequel.
For the most part, JJK's the ending was pretty rushed, and the vast majority of the characters didn't get a satisfying ending, even though their conclusions were good. But the author did the best he could, especially when he suffered from many illnesses. On top of that, some characters really had a proper ending, and others raised quite a few eyebrows. Among those left with an ambiguous ending, Kenjaku certainly takes the top spot and although fans saw him die in the Shinjuku Showdown arc, there is a character who looks exactly like him whose face was never revealed to readers. This character could very well be Kenjaku or, potentially, even Geto.
Kenjaku's death in Jujutsu Kaisen came in Shinjuku Showdown
- Todo and Yuta combined to kill Kenjaku
- Yuta copied Kenjaku's technique
In the Shinjuku Showdown arc of JJKKenjaku was one of the main antagonists of the series, and fans expected him to have a major battle in the series, or at least be as important as Sukuna in the final arc. Unfortunately, the writer didn't have the time or resources to give Kenjaku the importance he deserved, which ultimately led to him being sidelined and eliminated in a rather embarrassing way. In fact, Kenjaku's end was such that the vast majority of fans refused to believe it was even real, and a significant portion believed he would return somewhere later.
My will is to be inherited!! – Kenjaku
Essentially, Kenjaku was taken out in a sneak attack by Yuta. For a great antagonist to go out like that was really embarrassing. Yuta, with the help of Todo, was able to sneak up on him and cut off his head instantly. Immediately after, Yuta was able to stab his brain with cursed energy, essentially preventing him from using cursed energy or even trying to heal himself. He also managed to consume him through Rika and gain his cursed technique, which he later used in the battle against Sukuna in Shinjuku. While his end was disappointing, fans knew his will would continue and it eventually came in the form of him leaving the key to the fusion to Sukuna. Unfortunately, this is another point that fans never got to see, as the merger never really happened to begin with.
Obviously, Kenjaku met a disappointing end that no fan really wanted to accept, but at the same time, it was something that they had to deal with. That said, fans did see a glimpse of Kenjaku and they may have been given something to latch on to, as the series ended with the appearance of a character who looked just like him. Or, to be more specific, this character looked exactly like Suguru Geto.
How Gege teased Kenjaku's return in Jujutsu Kaisen
A character with Geto's body is alive and well
In the last chapter of JJKTakaba was found to be alive. A significant portion of the fans believed that Takaba had died, but like many others who were seemingly dead in the war, Takaba returned. He was seen planning his next work with a mysterious person whose face was not revealed. But fans didn't need to see this person's face to actually see who that person was. Unsurprisingly, that figure could only belong to one person, and that person is none other than Suguru Geto. In some way or means, Geto returned, but this could very well be Kenjaku in Geto's body, or Kenjaku as Takaba knew him.

Jujutsu Kaisen: Gojo Satoru's Fate at the End, Explained
Gojo died early in the Shinjuku Showdown arc by JJK. His end was a huge disappointment to fans.
It was clear to the fans to see that even this person's personality matched the Kenjaku that Takaba did his show with during their fight. This was obviously someone Takaba was familiar with and loved to play with. Takaba finally got his partner back, and while fans expected this person's face to be revealed at some point in the chapter, or later, they didn't even get a glimpse. The writer carefully placed dialogue boxes over this character's face, but the hairstyle and build itself confirmed that this person held Suguru Geto's body, with Kenjaku's potential mind.
As for the answer to who this person is, it may not be as complicated as one might imagine. Obviously, this can only be either Kenjaku or Geto. But fans saw Kenjaku die with their own eyes, which begs the question of how he can even return in the first place.
Will fans ever get to see Kenjaku return?
Takaba's cursed technology makes everything possible
The answer to the question of who this person really is is right in front of the fans. Fans know that Takaba's technique, comedian, allows him to turn anything he finds funny into reality. After the death of his partner, with whom he created an entire play, he likely used his ability to revive this person with whom he spent a lot of time. Of course, this essentially means that this person's body belongs to none other than Geto, while the mind may resemble Kenjaku's. That doesn't mean Kenjaku is alive. While it certainly remains a possibility, the likely answer here is that this person has a body similar to Geto, and a mind similar to the Kenjaku that Takaba knew, while being neither of those people.
A technique that can rival even Gojo Satoru!! – Narrator
This person is likely a mixture of these two, with a completely unique identity. In a way, this could be the author's way of reintroducing Suguru Geto into the plot, at least from the looks of it. Kenjaku always wanted a partner and he finally found one in the Shinjuku Showdown Arc. This partner will likely stay with him for a long time, and while there are chances that it is actually Kenjaku or Geto, it is highly unlikely that it is either of them. Fans will likely never find out the true identity of this person, and the writer will most likely keep him with Takaba for the foreseeable future, including appearing in various plays.
Of course, there could be further depth to it, and fans could later find out that Kenjaku is alive, which could also set the stage for a sequel. But at this point, that's highly unlikely as Gege doesn't seem to have any plans to continue JJK. It looks like Kenjaku is dead, and so is Geto. But a person resembling Geto's body and most likely Kenjaku's mind all exist because of Takaba's technique.
Jujutsu Kaisen's final chapter, JJK 271, was finally released on September 29, 2024. Fans can read the series on Manga Plus and Shonen Jump apps.
