Paul recently went up against boxing legend Mike Tyson in a massive Netflix event where the influencer beat the 58-year-old Tyson via unanimous decision. Now it looks like the star is eyeing his next massive boxing match for the new year with McGregor rumored to be Paul's next opponent.
Paul's match with Tyson was massively controversial, mainly due to the legendary boxer's advanced age. At 58, Mike Tyson is over three decades older than Jake Paul. Although many expected Tyson's experience and extensive boxing knowledge to help him secure victory over the 27-year-old, the huge age difference proved too much for the once-legendary boxer. With another win on Paul's record, the YouTuber looks to have another martial arts legend in his sights for the new year.

Jake Paul vs Conor McGregor is rumored in 2025
While there are many boxers eager to “end” Jake Paul's career, ESPN's Salvador Rodriguez reports that UFC fighter Conor McGregor may be next in line to take on Jake Paul (as discovered by Dexerto). According to Rodriguez, Paul vs McGregor is “on the table” for 2025, specifically either July, August or September. The reporter also claims that the boxing match will take place in India. With details likely still being finalized, it is currently unknown if this will be an exhibition match or a professional match.
After the rather lackluster fight with Mike Tyson, there have been lots of rumors about Paul's next opponent. Tommy Fury recently spoke about a rematch with Jake Paul, saying he would be open to a rematch but wants to talk “serious numbers” first. Fury was considered Paul's first real challenge in the world of boxing, and ultimately handed the controversial figure his first and only loss.
Rodriguez's report of a fight between McGregor and Paul comes just days after the UFC star took to social media to announce he was in “tentative agreements” to face Jake Paul's older brother Logan in an exhibition match in India. Although McGregor said he has agreed to the bout, it looks like negotiations could have taken a turn with Jake stepping in on his brother's behalf.
McGregor also noted that he will try to return to the Octagon after the boxing match. The UFC star was last seen in the Octagon in 2021 when he suffered his sixth professional loss as an MMA fighter and his second loss to fellow lightweight fighter Dustin Poirier. McGregor was scheduled to fight Michael Chandler at UFC 303 in June after the pair were rival trainers on The Ultimate Fighter, but the bout was canceled after McGregor pulled out with a broken toe.
