It sounds like Verdansk is here to stay in Call of Duty: Warzone

Summary

  • After five years, Verdansk has finally returned to Call of Duty: Warzone.

  • The event has been a huge hit with fans and past players, but many are worried about when Verdansk will be replaced with a new map.

  • As it turns out, Activision has plans to keep Verdansk around and even iterate on it to make a “better experience”.

I have to admit that one of my dear memories from being stuck indoors during Lockdown played an ungodly amount of call of duty: Warzone, learning every backgränd and snike shooting place over Verdansk, lets into stage just to die over and over – with undeserved confidence – it this Time it would work.

Earlier this month, Activision finally brought the fans favorite map back to celebrate its five-year anniversary, and to go through the war-held streets all these years later, climbing apartments to shotguns like the one who lurks on the roofs, has been extremely nostalgic. The map is as good as we remember it. And it is a feeling that is shared by much of society, as the game has seen a huge resuscitation in players. But how long before Verdansk is gone again?

When he spoke in an interview with IGN, game director Pete Actipis announced that it is here to stay. “We took the verdan back for a reason,” he said. “It wasn't just to get it back for a season and a kind of say goodbye to it again. A lot of effort went into it. So at the moment Verdansk is holding, and it's just the beginning of Verdansk 2025 trip, and then we'll see how things go from there.”

Activision plans to continue making verdansk “better”

Verdansk

It is good news for the past Warzone fans who have not had the last handful of maps that have launched with Vanguard and modern Warfare 3. But not only does Verdansk not go anywhere, Activision plans to iterate and improve the map during the foregoing future.

We wanted to create the best version of Verdansk possible.

“No confirmation or anything on the maps for the maps that are moving forward, but we love Verdansk,” added Actipis. “It was a nostalgic map that we loved and it's fun to play on, and so we just want to keep investing in it and continue to make it a better experience for our players who are moving forward in at least the time.”
