Firion joins Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy as a melee character who has the right kit. With flashy abilities and a passive that allows him to heal himself while using them, he's the perfect character for anyone who wants to be a frontline tank that actually does damage.
He is from Final Fantasy 2, and he is known as Rebel Fighting for Peace. His inclusion makes sense, as he helps the current crew deal with monsters and corrupt crystals in modern Tokyo. As a three-star character, he is slightly more difficult to use than others. He makes up for his difficulties with his damage production.

Firion is meant to be yours frontline attackers. His passive ability will constantly heal him as you use abilities during a fight, and when you start combine their passives with AoE attacksyou will be gain health from every enemy hit.
He has multiple combos you can run, ensure a quick death and heal for you while you do it. He is a three-star character, because in order to perform his installation correctly, you need to have the right timing and abilities.
Although he is one melee attacker, he has range thanks to his Chain Strike ability and Unique Ability Straightarrow, which opens him up dealing damage from afar, closing the gap and wailing on the enemy until they fall while he passively heals. This will require you to understand his rotation, because just spamming abilities can actually get you killed if you're not careful.

Best support ability
-
You will want to increase Firion's overall combat power here, as he can use a bit of everything as a frontline melee figure.
-
A upgraded Embolden gives you more ATKas well as a Hurry upboth good options for support here.
-
You can also focus on increase their HP more than his DEF, then often Firion will be tank damage on the front.
-
Vortex of Arms is a powerful UR, as it has a wide range and multiple use cases. Not only can it lift opponents into the air for combo opportunities or stop them in their tracksbut it can also clear a crystal quickly.
Using it on the boss is just as valuable as you can get kill an enemy squad member that bursts and attack the boss easily with this, giving you a whopping 9,999 BP upon their death while bursting.
It also works as one good way to quickly restore healthbecause beating the boss and enemy will heal you since it's an ability, and using it on a crystal and killing all the monsters there will also heal you. Of course it is not as good as Hope/Renew or Heal ability. Still, Vortex of Arms is a must UR ability for Firion.
Fervid Blazer takes a decent amount of damage from an enemy, but you really want to use it as one decent gap closer or to deal damage. With a good range, Firion can rush in, do tons of damageand follow up with another abilitysuch as Vortex of Arms, to finish them.
Chain Strike is the other option for hatch closure, with greater reach than Fervid Blazer, but does much less damage. It does an equally good job set up a combo opportunity.
Blood weapon is an amazing ability, which you will be able to recover a good portion of your health while causing damage. There should be one integral part of your combinationand can be popped early if you're low on health, as it heals a large amount.
Adding something like Surge can increase your ATK and thus the amount of damage and healing you do with Blood Weapon.
Your combo should start with Straightarrow if you are far away then follow up with Chain Strikeleading to Fervid Blazer. Follow up with VOrtex of Arms to throw your enemy into the air and finish them off with something like Blood Weapon when they fall down.
You can mix and match the setting depending on what you havelike throwing in one Thundaga or Earth Breaker if they are too far away. Selphie/Wall and using another damaging ability, like Firaga, works for a better follow up as the enemy falls to the ground as well.
Auron/Shooting Star is another good option if you have it, tput the enemy in the air again, allows you to follow up with Chain Strike or Fervid Blazer, which you did not use in the first combination. This can be replaced with another SR move, such as Firaga.
Best party compositions for Firion
-
-
- Cain – Not only can Kainn do tons of damage, but he can hold your own in a one-on-one fightand can jump around the battlefield as needed. That's him good at closing the distance, take advantage of an enemy that Firion has thrown into the skyand finish them. He can help create a juggle between himself and Firionwith both projecting enemies in the air.
- Cloud – Cloud does a good job at fill in any missing areas in a team with their melee abilities. He has one knock-up ability as well, which helps ensure the enemy never hits the ground between him, Firion, and Kain. He works well here because he can cover what the other two lack, can jump forward and launch enemies or engage them during a knock-up from Firion and end his own combo with one of his UR abilities.
-
- Balthier -This team works well as a setup that covering all available bases. Baldera's jar help juggle an enemy that Firion bounces up, but he can do it from afar. He is also good at deal heavy damage, boost his regular attacks to help dispatch an enemy. His range allows him to see the field and move freely while Firion tackles the front line.
- Zidane – Zidane provides the speed this team lacks. He can help capture the enemy by having them hunt him down, while using his ability to steal their BPwhich prevents them from cracking down on the boss. With the right attitude, he can share the stolen BP with Baltheir and Firion, who then can destroy the boss from two different vantage points.
