How to Get the Monster's Notebook in Metaphor: ReFantazio

The Spire of Blind Faith in Metaphor: ReFantazIo is basically a souped-up version of Forsaken Tower, another optional dungeon from earlier in the game. Both are short, straight forward and bursting with powerful enemies that will stop you in your tracks if you don't know what you're up against.

Metaphor: ReFantazio – Nord Mines Walkthrough

Prepare for a challenging trek through the Nord Mine in Metaphor: ReFantazio.

Of course, that's where this guide comes in. While we highly doubt you'll need help figuring out how to progress from floor to floor, we've got primers on each of these monstrous monsters, as well as the treasure you'll find along the way. Finally, we link to our dedicated guide for the dungeon boss, the deadly Leogron.

Quest Prep

The main character talks to an NPC at the Metaphor: ReFantazio dungeon Spire of Blind Faith.

On the way in, the NPC was marked as Confident woman will suggest that you fight from a distance in this dungeon, especially against the boss, Leogrom. This is good advice. So we want a party held in the back row as much as possible.

For our taste it mattered protagonist as a magic seeker, Strohl as a sniper, Junah as a masked dancer and Eupha as a summoner.

You may not have Eupha yet – if so, either wait until she joins (we think it's worth the wait), or simply put Hulkenberg or Heismay in a back position.

Bring an abundant supply of Ailments Absolutions to cure Poison. Having someone with you Patra is not a bad idea for that matter.

Floors one to three

Thunderstrike Thrust deals medium physical electrical damage and lowers their defense. Cyclone and Gacyclone deal with heavy single-target or party-wide wind damage. Weak against Pierce.

The first floor is an easy climb up. The second floor have two Cocasadosnasty bird monsters you might know as your own belly prey by now. Still, at this level they can be quite toughso don't take any chances and try your best to stun them.

There is a lonely one
Gold Elmento
– remember, it is weak to Wind – as well as an excellent one
Heavenly water
. That's it for floor two, then
go upstairs.

The third floor is a doozy. Almost a dozen weak bird enemies will try to swarm you while a Leogryph repeatedly casts area-of-effect spells on you. Eliminate the birds, roll behind Leogryph and kill it with Pierce attacks. Beware of its powerful wind attacks.

The fourth floor starts with a Magla flower nearby, spawning bee-type enemies until defeated. Beware of Cocasados. It may seem out of reach at first, but when you destroy the Magla Flower, there's a good chance it will come upon you.

One second Magla flower is past the first; this one spawns bird-type enemies with quick lunges. The chest has one Tidal Trident, which has 336 ATK and turns normal attacks into Wind elementals.

This fourth floor can be tough. Two Kokasados and a Faithwight Magileto is here. To have a decent chance of stunning them all, you should lure the first Kokasados to the doorwaycarefully cut it away and then do the same with the other Kokasados.

The Faithwight Magileto is no joke, so be sure to check out our coverage in the table above.

Take hold of Gold beetle on this floor. Go up the stairs. The sixth floor has approximately 20 or so Level 25 Sword Noble and Spear Noble Magiletos. Don't overestimate how easily they can get hits on you by teaming uphowever.

A lonely one Faithwight Magileto is at the back of the audience. Use Fae sight if you're worried about not discerning its identity before it lands some area-of-effect magic on you and stuns you. Over there is one Trove Imitec and a Graced water.

The chest here contains
Nasu's longbow
which has a great effect:
