How to get Critter Net in Moonlight Peaks

As with all games that Moonlight Peakswhile tending to your yard, you also have to whip out a bug net every now and then to scoop up the little critters running around. Unfortunately, you won't start the game with a grid, like you will with some of the other tools, so you'll have to move on before you can start collecting bugs.

Also, you don't need the net for animals alone. In addition to catching animals, you'll also use the net to catch Soul Blobs, which are floating little skulls that you'll see in every part of the map. Of course, all of this only comes after you get your net from Death.

How to find death and unlock the net

Players who get the net from Death in Moonlight Peaks.

As mentioned, you need Death to give you the bug catching tool, a net, which unfortunately won't happen until you're several days into the game. To face death you must first progress through the main quests until you've helped Brook's missing Crest back and Fiona has cleared the way to Misty Shores.

When all that is done, your next main objective will focus on having a dinner party at the Ambrosia mansion in Misty Shores. At this point, if you head to Misty Shores, you should be pulled into a cutscene where you meet Death. If you have made the best of your days, this should happen somewhere between day 10 and 15.

The first day you meet Death will be introductions, but if you come back the next day, then Death should teach you about Soul Blobsthe floating skulls, and equip yourself with a net to catch them. This is the same net you use to catch animals.

How to Catch Critters

Players preparing to capture a Critter in Moonlight Peaks.

Catching animals is pretty easy, especially if you've played something like Animal Crossing or Disney Dreamlight Valley. You need swing the net when you are in range of them and they will be caught. The catch will then be followed by a short animation of your character holding them up to show the name.

Of course, this is easier said than done. Critters and Soul Blobs will run away from you if you get too closeso you have to chase them a bit to catch them. My personal advice is to corner them in an area where you can get close enough to guarantee a capture.

Each swing will cost you energy, even if you missso don't just run around swinging wildly hoping to get lucky.

Once you have caught an animal, you can see it in your collection in the menu. From there you are free to use the creature as you wish, store it or sell it.
