Rooting through the rust belt, looking for material, is not as easy as it seems. With the change in ARC Raiders since it is randomized, it takes time for players to find what they need. Cooling fans is one of the components needed to complete the expedition project, so players need at least five to complete it.

Location of cooling fan in ARC Raiders
Cooling Fan, like all other materials and resources, appear in certain containers, but specifically those found in locations marked in the fields of technology and electronics. Here is an example:
The Power generation complex is located on the Dam Battlegrounds map, and it counts as an industrial and electronics area. Inside it are various containers and machinery that players can pry up to get electronics components (especially inside the operating room). Once they do, there's a chance the cooling fan is one of those components.
Players can also visit other similar areas, such as Control towerwhich is located southeast of the Power Generation complex, and Research and administration not far from there.
Players can also try their luck by visiting other maps like Blue Gates and Spaceport to find similar lootable zones, as long as they remember to look for Electronics and Technical marking on the mentioned zones. Here is a detailed summary of areas where cooling fans can be found on these maps:
