Gege sets up a war bigger than the modern era

Jujutsu Kaisen fans can't get enough of Gege Akutami's storytelling and world-building Jujutsu Kaisen Modulodespite the absence of familiar characters, especially Yuji Itadori. The JJK sequel has released nine chapters, and so far most fans are happy with the direction the story is taking. Gege continues to expand knowledge in inventive ways, and fans are mostly grateful.

An important factor in the ongoing tension for Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is how Gege introduces new characters with compelling backstories. Recently, the manga revealed Maru and Cross' past, giving fans a deeper understanding of their struggles and motivations. At the same time, the build-up to a war greater than the modern era is obvious, now that key players have been introduced.

Rumelians and Deskuntes are at war in JJK Modulo

Like humans, aliens in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo also have complex societies and their own agendas. The Simurians, specifically The Discounters, are against the Rumelians because of the clan's Kalyan religion. Moreover, they wanted the Rumal territories for their Mul crimes, turning religious conflicts and economic ambitions into a bitter rivalry. Although there were initiatives to fix the tension between the two clans, diplomatic efforts and attempts at reconciliation repeatedly failed.

Just like that, tensions only deepened, especially after that strongest Rumelian, Duradied in his duel with Dabura, who was revealed to be a Deskunte master, fueling resentment and causing outrage. As revealed in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 9, the Rumelians had to flee Simuria with masses of Mul in their attempt to preserve their people and resources from Deskunte's advancing forces.

With Cross and Maru lead the Rumelianstogether with Jabaloma and even Dura's killer and best friend, Daburathey looked for another planet where they could find good neighbors. But escaping Simuria with valuable resources in their possession invites constant danger from the Deskuntes, who seem determined to follow them wherever they go, even on Earth.

Deskuntes was able to pursue the Rumelians on Earth

Currently, the Rumelians stay in Japan trying to assess if they could coexist peacefully with the Jujutsu Sorcerers who possess the same ability to manipulate cursed energy. The only difference is that Rumelians refer to their cursed energy as Rollolucawhich flows differently and is channeled through their third eye. They also have a special ore that can convert their Rolloluca into any form of energy.

Fans have seen glimpses of their power in the manga, and it's clear Maru and Cross are two of the strongest characters in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo right now. Not to mention Dura and Dabura, who have more power and fighting ability than most of their kind. Although they were initially assumed to be Jujutsu Kaisen's new antagonists, their backstories complicate that notion.

After the release of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 9fans are now getting ready for one cosmic war between Deskuntes and Rumelianswhich draws the current generation's strongest jujutsu wizards into the conflict. If and when the Deskuntes pursue the Rumelians on Earth, the planet may become a battlefield where Tsurugi and Yuka Okkotsu are forced to confront alien powers unlike anything they've seen before.

Rumelians and Jujutsu Sorcerers can team up

Deskuntes is after the Rumelians' Mul reserveturning the precious resource into a central point of contention capable of igniting an all-out war. However, with the Rumelians staying in Japan, there is a possibility that Jujutsu wizards could get involved, especially Tsurugi and Yuka Okkotsu. They can be an ally or an obstacle to the Rumelians, but with their current relationship, cooperation seems more likely.

For now though Jujutsu Kaisen fans will have to wait for more chapters to see how this dynamic develops, whether Deskuntes escalates his pursuit of Mul, and how the Rumelians, along with potential “neighbors” like Yuka and Tsurugi, navigate the looming war.
