There's a lot of functionality in having a basement in your home, so it makes sense when you're gaming Paralivesyou'd like to be able to build one, but basements are a bit more difficult than other parts of the house to build.

Can you (officially) build basements in Paralives?

There is no official tools to build a basement in your Paralives home yet. However, basement tools are part of Paralives roadmap and will arrive sometime within the Early Access period, which is listed as 2026-2028.

How to build a basement in Paralives

Building a basement in Paralivesdo you need a ready-made home. Some of the houses already have built-in basements, and most of them are pretty much empty aside from a few boxes or random storage items.

But there's still a trick to building a functional basement in your own custom home, which we'll explain in more detail below:

Step-by-step cellar tutorial

First, you need to start above ground and build your home to have at least two stories, making the lower level the shape you want your basement to be.

Once you have the layout ready, scroll out until the homes look like they do in map view.

Click on the lot and select the arrows to Move Lot.

Select the house and hold shift while moving the mouse down. This allows you to put your current first floor into the ground, making it a functional basement.

When you select the home and use shift to move it down, it will move all trees, bushes and other decorations underground. You will need to remove these or move them up individually when you are done, which is made easier by placing these items in your inventory.

Finally, add stairs to the basement level so you can get up and down. To do this, select down arrow from the options in the upper right corner to go down a level and then select the stairs inside Construction mode and place them where you want them.

New options for stairs are also coming in a later update, according to Paralives Studios' development page.
