Ellefale, The Azure Queen of Death Attacks
Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana may chronologically replace Ys 3, but it's still a great place for new players to dive into the game. This game gives players their first real challenge with Dularbut Ellefale, Azure Queen of Deathis in a completely different league. It is also very important to note that players do not want to get anywhere near this boss. Being up close and personal will mean her attacks will connect much more often.
This boss can take quite a bit of damage on the game's normal difficulty, but can seem incredibly intimidating if players try their first chance at the game on a higher difficulty. However, this is not an impossible task thanks to Ignis bracelet.

How to beat Ellefale, The Azure Queen of Death
There are games that don't require a lot of grinding, but this is not one of those cases. Players should grind until their health is above 100. They can also take some Raval Ore to upgrade their armor, but it's best to save this ore for better armor later.
Players may be tempted to jump into the fray the moment the fight begins, but this is a bad idea. Not only will this put them at risk of taking a lot more damage, but Ellefale is actually just out of range of their basic attacks.
Fortunately, players can shoot fireballs with their Ignis bracelet to damage her. The closer you are, the more likely you are to get hit, so stay on the other side of the arena. Ellefale doesn't have much of an arsenal, but each of them hits very hard and can deplete the player's health bar much faster than they want.

Ellefale, The Azure Queen of Death Attacks
Some of Ellefale's attacks aren't that bad on their own. However, they can each deny parts of the arena where the player can safely move. This makes positioning very important. There are four attacks in Ellefale's arsenal:
-
A spinning disc attack
-
A vertical slashing attack
-
Several lighting elements
-
A slowly spinning sphere
Spinning disc
The first of her attacks will be a spinning disk that will launch from Ellefale's position towards the player. There is not enough time to get from one end of the arena to the other, so the only way to avoid this is to jump. Jump too early and you'll take damage when you land on the disc. Players will need sharp reflexes. If they time it too late, the disc will take damage before your jump is high enough to avoid it.
Overall, this is a dangerous attack that will cost players large chunks of life, and also a couple fights against Ellefale. However, Ellefale will telegraph this move when she raises her right arm. This move alone makes for an intense boss fight.
Vertical slash
This thin blade-like attack is much easier to dodge. Just running left or right is enough to avoid it. There will be times when Ellefale has several different attacks at once, meaning players may need to move to the side while jumping to avoid a spinning disc at the same time. This move is telegraphed by Ellefale raising his right arm.
Lightning strike
Attacks like this make for a challenging battle. This is the hardest of Ellefale's abilities to avoid. She will telegraph it by leaning forward, then you must charge forward. When she raises both arms, run back towards the other end of the arena jump. Beams of light will be shot at the player, and if they run or jump towards Ellefale they will be hit. If you jump while running away, the player will be in a safe place away from the lightning.
Spinning sphere
Ellefale will create a spinning sphere that slowly moves towards the player. This can deny players parts of the arena to safely move into. On its own it's easy to outrun, but if another projectile comes at the player it can box them in – which can make this boss quite frustrating. Ellefale's telegraph for this move is when she raises both wings.
