Helldivers 2's Machinery of Oppression 6.2.5 update is officially out now and is free to download on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. This latest Helldivers 2 the update brings another suite of bug fixes to the live Sci-Fi shooter service and adds support for some major upscalers of the gaming industry.
During the last 27 months, Helldivers 2 has received over 100 updates. These updates have included major content cuts, such as the December 2024 Omens of Tyranny update that added the Illuminate faction, as well as a plethora of smaller patches that focus solely on improving the game's performance and squashing any bugs, and a whole host of updates that fall in between the two. This latest Helldivers 2 the update falls more towards the latter end of the scale, not adding any major new content to the game but instead improving its performance, especially for those on PC.

Helldivers 2s latest update can be broken down into two key areas. The first key area is this update's addition of scale-out support. With the help of Dutch video game developer Nixxes Software, Arrowhead has been able to add support for some major game scalers with this latest Helldivers 2 update. FSR 3.1.5, DLSS 4.5 and XeSS 3.0 are now all supported by Helldivers 2. Additionally, for those with NVIDIA GPUs, Helldivers 2 now supports NVIDIA Reflex, and those running AMD GPUs now have access to AMD's Anti-Lag 2. DRS support has also been added on PC. Variable Rate Shading (VRS) has also been added Helldivers 2 for supported devices, which can help improve performance by reducing the shading rate in certain areas of the screen, reducing the workload on the GPU.
The other key area in this latest Helldivers 2 the update is bug fixes. Like most people Helldivers 2 updates before it, this latest patch brings another handful of fixes to a selection of technical issues currently plaguing the sci-fi shooter. For example, an issue where Helldivers could not climb small objects manually without auto-climb enabled has been fixed. Several rendering issues have also been fixed, and performance and image quality have reportedly been improved across all platforms. Additional resolution options are now also available in the display settings for PC monitors. This update has also improved VRAM management on PC.
