With the long-awaited launch of Grand Theft Auto 6 As it gets closer, it's no wonder there's more discussion than ever about what kind of stories and themes the game will explore. Thanks to the first reveal trailer for the project, fans have a pretty decent idea of what to expect from the game's main story, at least from the perspective of its protagonists, but many of the smaller details are still up in the air.
While many players already expect the core story of Grand Theft Auto 6 to be rich and deep, it's worth noting that the inevitable online mode of the title will be a good way to expand this story, much in the same way it did for Grand Theft Auto 5. About the online experience of Grand Theft Auto 6 has almost as much longevity and narrative quality as GTA 5s multiplayer counterpart, Rockstar was finally able to give fans a more tangible idea of what happened to Niko Bellic, 2008's iconic protagonist Grand Theft Auto 4.

Family
Grand Theft Auto 6 should have its own Mount Chiliad, but it shouldn't exactly be Mount Chiliad
Grand Theft Auto 6 should aim for the same community-wide mystery as GTA 5's Mount Chiliad, but with an important difference to take it to the next level.
Niko Bellic deserves an update in Grand Theft Auto 6
It's clear to see why Niko Bellic is considered by many to be one of the most memorable protagonists in the entire world Grand Theft Auto franchise. With Grand Theft Auto 4 As Niko Bellic was the last major release to have a standout protagonist, it was in the sweet spot of Rockstar's more modern and grounded storytelling, while still having a full games worth of character development without the bloat of multiple protagonists.
This went well with the much darker and grittier themes Grand Theft Auto 4s characters, places and stories, where Niko's story is about war, violence, grief and betrayal. This gives a unique perspective to Grand Theft Auto 4 which is channeled through Niko, creating the perfect storm of memorability that has seen the character still so present in the discussion surrounding the franchise, despite GTA 4 was released nearly two decades ago.
As such a well-received character, many fans were hoping for an appearance from Niko Bellic sometime during 2013's GTA 5although unfortunately this never happened. While references are made to Niko in a handful of dialogue instances throughout GTA 5many fans were disappointed that the character's ultimate fate is still up for debate, and Grand Theft Auto 6 should be the title to finally put this mystery to rest.
It is known through GTA 5 that Niko “went quiet” since the explosive life of crime he led during the events of GTA 4but there is no real way to tell what has happened to Niko since the 2008 game. Despite how extensive the history of Grand Theft Auto 6 It's already rumored that it might make sense for the game's single player to focus mainly on its unique characters, without having to rely on nostalgic callbacks to older games. If that is to be the case, there is clearly room for GTA 6 online to present Niko in some capacity.
Grand Theft Auto 6 Online can be the perfect resting place for older protagonists
The 2013s Grand Theft Auto Online has grown to become a powerhouse of the franchise, even carrying the story forward after the launch of GTA 5 which many fans were hoping to see in dedicated story expansions. GTA online has been the main way players have seen the likes of Trevor, Franklin and Lamar change in the years since GTA 5is released, and it seems only right that Niko Bellic gets the same treatment in Grand Theft Auto 6 online.
This does not necessarily mean that Niko must be sentenced back to a life of crime in GTA 6but the game could easily offer that bit of closure that fans have been so desperate to see for the past 16 years. That would be a shame GTA 6 didn't find a way to celebrate the franchise's rich history in any capacity, and the story-related content of the game's online mode seems like the perfect environment to give Niko Bellic the life update he deserves.
