Google adding fun Pokemon Easter Egg Mini-Game

If a user searches for the name of a pokemon in the original Kanto Pokedex, after the results load, a small pokeball icon will appear in the lower right corner. By pressing it, it will lead to an overlay of the sought Pokemon that pops up on the screen, followed by a brief animation of a pokeball thrown on it and captures it. A new screen will then emerge and asks the player to find the remaining 150 Pokémon by searching for them as well.

Pokemon Google Easter Egg Caveats

Fans who want to try this Easter egg may want to know a few things in advance. Catching 151 Pokemon is only possible for users who have logged in to their Google accounts while performing the searches. While users can search and catch as many Pokémon as they want without an account, the number will not increase, and records of previous Pokemon are captured will be lost.

In addition, players cannot immediately start catching Pokémon as the legendary bird trio or mewtwo. An attempt to do so will result in a message that the user needs a master ball to catch them, and that they can get one after caught their first five Pokémon. The more creatures that are captured, the more master balls are obtained, which means that users can eventually grab each Pokémon. However, this means that those who do not log in will not be able to capture these special Pokémon at all.
