Final Fantasy 9's Vivi and Zidane have been transformed into adorable art figures

Square Enix has many different styles of collectibles; But only its most popular games get the figure treatment. The figure's figure, for example, is exclusively populated with characters from Final Fantasy 7, or at least it was until today.

Final Fantasy 9 will be the second game to get its own selection of adorable art figures, with the first two characters who join their spinoff range last night. Shared on Twitter by Aitaikimochi, FF9's Zidane and Vivi have received the adorable art treatment. Probably the two characters you had expected first because of their fame and popularity, but hopefully there will be more.

“What heck happened?”

Especially if the prolonged rumors of a Final Fantasy 9 remake stop to come true, and as is always the case with regard to new FF9-Merch, the disclosure of these new figures has received the special reputation mill that turns again. The FF9 remake rumor Mill never stops turning, but after not having the Summer Game Fest Weekend, and getting the Final Fantasy Tactics News that we have all been waiting for, people eased a bit.

Will they be delivered before the alleged remake?

They are now back in full force thanks to the new figures. The reactions to the figure reveal are peppered with comments like “Where is my remake?” and “it must come, right?” While many of these types of reactions can be denoted some range, this is a rare example of, even though there is no close to an official announcement, Square is to refuse to admit that remake is real to grow old.

A Final Fantasy 9 remake was one of many games revealed via the Big Nvidia leak in 2021. Now that the Final Fantasy Tactics tender has been revealed, every single game that has leaked through the documents other than FF9 has now been confirmed to be real. Yoshi-P has even commented on how he would approach a hypothetical remake and push down all the hopes for a Final Fantasy 7-style trilogy.

Back to the numbers, and whether you think their creation is an indication of an imminent remake -approach or not, hopefully, it will be here when released. Pre-orders are now open to the VIVI and Zidane figures through Square's Japanese store, but They are not sent until 22 November 2025. They cost 7 480 yen ($ 52) eachBut there is no guarantee that will be how much they cost in the United States, if they are ever made available outside Japan at all.
