Final Fantasy 14 fixes bugs dating back to ARR

Final Fantasy 14 digs deep with its latest update, fixing a bug that has been part of the game since A Realm Reborn launched.

Aside from game updates, one of the DawnrailThe most discussed moments received changes after player feedback was considered. On the r/ffxiv subreddit, players noticed that pieces of dialogue in the level 100 main story Trial, The Interphos, were updated in Patch 7.1. Once players got the final boss of Patch 7.0, Queen Sphene, down to about 25% HP, a cutscene showed another Dawnrail character, Wuk Lamat, enters the battlefield and shouts, “Sphene, listen to me!” When Queen Sphene tried to fight back Wuk Lamat's efforts, the latter fought back saying, “Then at me! Not as a machine, but as the real you!” followed by shouting Sphene's name. The first line delivery in Patch 7.0 received mixed responses from Final Fantasy 14 players, and some questioned the voice direction given to Wuk Lamat's English voice actor, Sena Bryer.

Final Fantasy 14 Changes Dialogue of The Interphos Trial

However, Square Enix took fan feedback into consideration for Patch 7.1 and chose to make changes to the Dawnrails main story finale. Bryer re-recorded his dialogue, which featured louder and dirtier yells compared to the previous takes. After the launch of the Crossroads update, Final Fantasy 14 players praised Bryer and Square Enix for the improvements made in Interphos Trial. Bryer said on Bluesky that she had to keep the updated lines a secret and admitted that she lost her voice the day after filming.

Even if Final Fantasy 14 players voiced complaints with other parts of Patch 7.1, the updated lines of Wuk Lamat were a marked improvement. Like the story Final Fantasy 14 moving forward, only time will tell how much players will see and hear more from Wuk Lamat.
