Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will return to an Early Access campaign for players who are particularly keen to see how the story continues. There is a point to be made that the Korea-focused single player campaign is Modern Warfare 4s most exciting feature to begin with, making the Early Access campaign a particularly interesting deal. This will be the first time as a main line COD the game has tackled the subject, and while it will obviously be shrouded in the superhero-adjacent vibes the franchise is known for, it should provide an exciting change of pace regardless.

In fact, one could argue that the upgraded DMZ is actually a second chance for a sandbox-focused Modern Warfare 3-style side campaign. Modern Warfare 3s campaign was not good especially because it used Modern Warfare 2s DMZ to flesh out a campaign mode with very few custom heavy missions outside of the open world sandbox. As Modern Warfare 4 has a full-fledged game ball campaign by default, this could be an easy way to lay out the game more for those who want co-op and long-term development.
