Each ancient weapon and their location, explained

Ancient weapons are an incredibly important part of One Piece. After being set up in the Arabasta arc, they are one of the biggest mysteries that will only be fully answered when Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates reach the final island, Laugh Tale. This basically makes The Ancient Weapons an incredibly intriguing mystery, which the author has only slightly touched on over the years.

Still, fans know quite a bit about these ancient weapons, thanks to recent events in history. Eiichiro Oda has also hinted at the location of the ancient weapons over the years. While much about them remains a mystery, these ancient weapons slowly unravel more with each passing arc.

Platoon

Pluton is the first ancient weapon Oda revealed in the story. Its very first mention was made in the Arabasta Saga, where Crocodile was actively searching for it. Crocodile somehow knew that the Poneglyph found in Arabasta spoke of the location of the ancient weapon Pluton. Nico Robin found out the truth about Pluto; but she refused to reveal it to Crocodile.

Essentially, the Pluton is said to be a giant warship that can vaporize entire islands in a single shot. We don't know exactly what Pluto looks like. This ancient weapon was touched upon again in the Water 7 Saga, where the government was apparently looking for its blueprints. Franky ended up burning the blueprints, while Robin, who could have brought the weapon to life, also rebelled against the government. The Ancient Weapon Pluton possesses immense power, and it goes without saying. But right now this ancient weapon is still sleeping.

In Arabasta Saga by One Piecewe were introduced to the Poneglyph which told us the location of the ancient weapon Pluton. Despite learning the secrets so early, Robin kept this information to herself, as the knowledge of the ancient weapon is incredibly dangerous and can lead to large-scale destruction. It is believed that the World Government is also aware of Pluto's location. As for the location itself, we found out where it really rests much later in the story, when the Straw Hat Pirates reached Wano's land.

After the war against Kaido ended, it was confirmed by Eiichiro Oda that Pluton is actually sleeping under the land of Wano. The phrase “Open Wano's Borders” essentially refers to unleashing the ancient weapon again. The borders erected around Wano, which appear to be man-made, keep the weapon locked away in secret. When the time is right, these boundaries will fall down and the ancient weapon will be unleashed once again. It must also be noted that the ancient weapon Pluton seems to have some connections to Momonosuke, which will be the key to using this warship.

Poseidon

Ancient Weapon Poseidon is the second of the three major weapons revealed to fans in One Piece. This ancient weapon was introduced towards the end of the Fish-Man Island arc. Once again, Robin had already figured out the secrets behind the ancient weapon of Poseidon in this arc. She also knew that the ancient weapon was on Fishman Island. It was King Neptune who revealed that Shirahoshi, his very own daughter, was the ancient weapon of Poseidon.

Fans didn't expect Poseidon to be an actual living being instead of a literal weapon, but this adds a touch of humanity to these ancient weapons, which will be incredibly relevant as the story progresses. As for the powers of the Ancient Weapon Poseidon, we know that it can control every single Sea King, and with its power, level the entire world, submerge it and destroy it in the process.

The location of Poseidon is not a secret to any One Piece fan. Poseidon is located on Fishman Island, where it has always been. Before Shirahoshi, Poseidon's power belonged to the former mermaid princess, who was also allied with joyboy. After her death, Shirahoshi became the next Ancient Weapon Poseidon.

Uranus

uranus ancient weapon in one piece

Uranus is the last ancient weapon that we have recently seen One Piece. Unfortunately, we don't know much about this ancient weapon, only that it flies and looks like a giant ship. The ancient weapon Uranus is powered by the Mother Flame, which was created by Dr. Vegapunk. Eiichiro Oda gave us a glimpse of its use in the Egghead Island arc, where it completely wiped out Lulusia Kingdom in a single shot.

The use of this ancient weapon left a giant gaping hole in the sea, similar to the one under Enies Lobby. Consequently, water levels around the world rose significantly by 1 meter over the following week, rendering many islands uninhabitable.

Place of Uranus

The exact location of Uranus' ancient weapon is unknown. What we do know for sure though is that this weapon belongs to Imu. This isn't much of a surprise, given that Imu was the one who called for the destruction of Lulusia Kingdom. In fact, the World Government is already in possession of one of these powerful weapons, and thanks to Vegapunk, they now have the key to Awakening it as well. The government has already used it once, and they could potentially use it again soon enough in the future.
