Ki manipulation i Dragon Ball comics can take many forms. From enhancing their body to gathering enough Ki to transform into an entirely new and much more powerful state, characters in this franchise owe their exceptional strength to all aspects of Ki. However, the most common application here is to use it for powerful attacks.
These attacks can also take many different forms, although the most common, and arguably the most dangerous, are those clustered in a massive sphere. These moves are called “bomb techniques” and are often the strongest of all Dragon Ballso let's take a look at the best of them in the series.
Dragon Ball: 6 worst transformations in the entire series, ranked
While Dragon Ball has introduced tons of transformations over the years, there are some that just aren't on par with the others.
The Big Bang attack is as deadly as it is iconic
User: Vegeta
Even after his transformation into a hero, Vegeta retained his ruthless and offensive-focused fighting style. Upon unlocking his Super Saiyan state in the Android Saga, Vegeta's strength grew greater than ever before, with which he displayed his most powerful technique, the vicious Big Bang Attack, which went on to become one of his most iconic techniques.
What stood out most about this attack was its sheer destructive power, as a single hit from it completely destroyed Android 19, leaving nothing but his head. Compounding its strength, the Big Bang Attack left a massive mushroom cloud in its wake, cementing how devastating it is, especially since it is still used by Vegeta to this day.
The Death Ball is a world-destroying technology
Users: Frieza, Cell, Buu
To this day, Frieza remains the best villain in the entire franchise according to most fans, and part of this is due to his incredibly sadistic nature. This nature is perfectly personified with his moveset, of which the Death Ball is the ultimate attack that has even seen use in the hands of other powerful villains like Cell and Buu.
Ever since the beginning of Dragon Ball ZThe Death Ball has been stated to be powerful enough to destroy the planet if it ever connects, which speaks to its incredible power. Even now, it remains an integral part of Frieza's arsenal, with the galactic tyrant using a 100% version as recently as the Tournament of Power.

Holy wrath showed the strength of a God
User: Zamasu
Merged Zamasu had one of the most terrifying movesets in the entire franchise, combining the incredible power he boasted himself and merging it with Goku Black's powers. The result was a fusion whose Ki could unleash devastating damage and injure even the strongest characters.
One of his signature attacks was the Holy Wrath; a ball of fiery red Ki that resembled the sun. Initially it was quite small, but Goku Black would eventually charge it enough to increase its size to a large building, making it a remarkably powerful attack that was only deflected due to Vegito's overwhelming strength.
The Planet Destroyer was a big attack
User: Broly
In it Dragon Ball Super: Broly movie, the fan-favorite Saiyan was finally introduced into the canon of the franchise, and he certainly made an exciting debut. Just like his older counterpart, Broly had the most potential of any surviving member of his race, and this definitely showed with his amazing Planet Crusher attack.
The Planet Crusher was one of the biggest bomb attacks we've ever seen in the series, as it even dwarfed entire mountains when thrown at Goku. Although Goku survived it, the explosion itself was large enough to reduce the surrounding area to nothing, and it even sent the other onlookers flying.
The Sphere of Destruction could have destroyed the Earth
User: Beerus
As the God of Destruction of Universe 7, Beerus is the most powerful being in the entire universe who has been seen destroying entire planets with the snap of a finger. So of course it's not wrong to assume that the attacks in his arsenal are some of the greatest in the multiverse, especially his Sphere of Destruction.
In his fight against Goku, Beerus made a huge ball of Ki that resembled the sun that took every bit of strength and energy that Goku had to stop it from reaching Earth and destroying it. While Goku stopped the attack, it was eventually revealed that Beerus barely used a fraction of his power, so the Sphere of Destruction at full strength would likely be the strongest technique in the series.
Spirit Bomb is the ultimate technique
User: Goku
Throughout the series, the Spirit Bomb is the only technique that comes close to the Kamehameha in terms of overall icon status. Throwing his hands up in the air, Goku gathers energy and Ki from around him to form a large sphere that has been shown to obliterate anyone it is used against.
The big caveat with this technique is that it can only be used by someone who is pure of heart, and similarly someone who is good can also deflect the attack, while all the bad guys are wiped out by it. The actual power of the Spirit Bomb depends on how many beings lend Goku their energy, and the strongest version gathers energy from the far reaches of the universe, making this the most powerful technique in Dragon Ball as a whole.
