Divinity: Original Sin 2 have a lot to do. It has an incredibly fun combat system with a lot of variety, it's set in a surprisingly deep world where every choice matters, and it has some really cool lore that players can sink their teeth into while enjoying a typical playthrough.
During the first act of the game, players have Source Collars equipped, restrictive collars that cannot be removed normally. These source collars prevent players from using the source and do not allow them to equip other collars. Removing them may take some time, but it is an important step to ensure smooth sailing in future acts.

What is source collar in DOS 2?
This episode contains some lore spoilers.
Source Collars are powerful shackles used by the Divine Order to keep the Godwok at bay. When equipped, these source collars prevent the player from using the source, Rivellon's world energy. Using the source lures the voidwok through the veil, which is partly why the Golden Order hunts down and shackles any potential users of the energy as soon as they find them.
Source users also have the potential to become Godwoken, champions of their race and respective gods who can attain godhood to seal the veil and prevent voidwoken intrusion into their world. Lucian, the head of the Golden Order, wants to achieve godhood, which is why he targets all potential Godwoken to reduce his competition.

How to remove the source collar in Divinity: Original Sin 2
There are three different methods of removing the Source Necklace in DOS 2. These methods come into play at different times, although players will have difficulty using Source even after unlocking the Source Necklace due to a lack of Source in the starting region.
- Neighbor: Nebora is a childhood friend of Dallis who studies the various tools used by the Golden Order. If the player wins in the Fort Joy Arena and becomes champion, she can remove the protagonist's collar. She can be found at the following coordinates: X:223 | Y:181.
If the Magisters see the player without a Source Collar, they will immediately become hostile and begin fighting.
- Leia: Found in the Sanctuary of Amadia (X: 428 | Y: 20), Leya can remove the entire party's Source Necklace under the right circumstances.
- If the player completes the “Most Dangerous When Cornered” quest and brings Gareth back safe and sound, she will remove your party's collar.
- Alternatively, if players have Lohse, she can calm Leya down and give her the peace of mind to remove the collars.
- Players can use Beast to talk to Duggan, Leya's dwarf companion, which will help convince her to remove your collars.
- End of Act I: If the player fails to remove their collars on their own during their stay at Fort Joy, Malady removes them for them as they begin the second act aboard the Lady Vengeance.
