Diablo 4: Best Nightmare Dungeons for XP (Season 3)
This Diablo 4 Nightmare Dungeon level list will help players identify the maps they should target when using XP.
One aspect that gets players so excited is the robust set of character classes. Blizzard is constantly refining them, but what is currently on offer is a dynamic, balanced list of classes with unique play styles. Some of the classes are more powerful than others, but none are outright unplayable.
Updated November 20, 2024 by Marc Santos: The Vessel of Hatred expansion for Diablo 4 introduced the Spiritborn, a mix between the D3 Monk and Witch Doctor classes that uses both martial arts and mystical mojo. The expansion also added a host of new legendary aspects, uniques and skills to all classes, shaking up the meta drastically along with a laundry list of balance changes. We've updated this tier list to include the biggest changes from the Vessel of Hatred and Season 6 patches.
Diablo 4 Tier List (Best Diablo 4 Classes)
Blizzard has made quite a few adjustments Diablo 4's classes during their seasons. Many of these controversial changes radically altered the balance of power in the classes. The following class list describes how each class ranks in terms of ease of play and overall power, from best to worst, and according to how strong they are at all stages of Diablo 4including the early game. Blizzard will no doubt continue to refine the classes throughout the game's lifespan, but here's what they look like right now:

while paying attention to both the leveling and endgame experiences. Some classes perform significantly better once fully geared and leveled up, and all are viable at every stage of the game. There is a separate tier list at the end covering the current season's top classes and builds.
S Rank — Spiritborn
Spiritborn are pretty much the best Diablo 4 class from the issue of The ship of hate. It's very hard to compare this one to the rest of the classes in terms of build variety, ease of use, and overall power. Even the weakest builds for this class are on par with the best builds from other classes, and even its early leveling builds outperform everyone else's. Spiritborn feels more like one Diablo 3 class in terms of power and pace, making it worthy of its reputation as Diablo 4's best class.
S Rank — Necromancer
Necromancer is basically Diablo 4's best class. They are extremely powerful in all stages of the game, especially now that their minion builds have become much stronger compared to their previous iterations in previous patch versions. As of Season 4, a Level 35 minion Necromancer with the right build can easily clear the Level 55 Cathedral of Light Capstone Dungeon without breaking a sweat. Later, if players find minion builds too unwieldy in World Tier 4, they can always switch to even stronger builds with other skills like Bone Spear and Blood Mist.
A Rank — Rogue
Meanwhile, Rogues sit at a similar power level to Necromancers at all game stages. However, this class requires a bit more finesse on the part of the player. Rogues are capable of high AOE and single-target DPS, but they require better cooldown management and a sharper sense of positioning. Later, Rogues can transform into extremely powerful skirmishers using both melee and ranged weapons – this flexibility alone is enough to earn them a spot at the top of this list.
A Rank – Druid
Even with all the buffs, the Druid class retains its slow leveling experience relative to other classes. However, its late game builds with Lightning Storm and Tornado have never been better as of Season 4. Once a Druid is properly equipped, they can steam through Nightmare Dungeons like a true force of nature. The only thing holding this class back from reaching S-tier is its slow early clearing speeds and lousy resource management while leveling.

Best games to play if you like Diablo 4
For those who have grown tired of Sanctuary and are looking for a new challenge, there are plenty of great games like Diablo 4 that deserve a look.
B Rank – Wizard
Leveling up to a Sorcerer can feel a little precarious due to how naturally fragile the class is, but nothing beats the feeling of mowing down Hellspawn with magic. This is a very nice class to play that carries into the endgame quite well, although it can feel a bit stifling when it comes to building variety. The majority of Sorcerer builds rely on having multiple defensive skills at once, which can make the class feel stale at times. Still, Sorcerers can absolutely compete with other classes when it comes to endgame farming and boss killing, especially with the Meteor, Ball Lightning, and Blizzard builds.
C Rank – Barbarian
The barbarian class is an excellent choice for new Diablo players thanks to their high survivability and simple playstyles. They have the weakest early game power of any class, but slowly creep up the tier list as players gain better gear. Once a barbarian reaches the peak of their power, they quickly overtake everyone else like an S-Class with builds that focus on Rend, Charge and Hammer of the Ancients, even with buffs to the Limitless Rage and Encroaching Wrath aspects.
Thank God, this Diablo 4 the level list does not have to rank “D”, “E” or “F”. None of them Diablo 4 classes are outright unplayable or completely broken. The game regularly receives class balance updates every season as well, so players shouldn't have to worry about any of the classes feeling bad from playing at any stage of the game.
The best endgame builds for every Diablo 4 class
Diablo 4 has a rich, repeatable endgame system that will keep players engaged for years to come if Blizzard plays its cards right. Starts at level 50, each Diablo 4 class gets access to Paragon Boards and a host of extra content. The added progression system offers players more ways to customize their characters. This will come in handy as they face all the new threats they will encounter in the endgame.
The following is a tiered list of popular built-ins Diablo 4 season 5. As always, expect this to change regularly between seasons or when a major balance fix is released. Even the slightest change to a build's key component can determine its place in a ranking list, so keep an eye out for possible buffs or nerfs in future patches.
