Survivor horror game Dead in daylight is known for its collaborations, with characters from such iconic properties as A Nightmare on Elm Street, Silent Hill, Dungeons and Dragons, and more. Dead by Daylight's The latest collaboration will feature eight skins inspired by characters created by iconic horror manga artist Junji Ito. One such character, who will appear as a legendary skin for The Artist, is Fuchi, a recurring villain with a penchant for human flesh who appears in several Ito short stories.

Dead by Daylight Adds Junji Ito content
Dead by Daylight introduces a new collection based on Junji Ito's terrifying manga creations, with new skins for both Killers and Survivors.
Fuchi's Introduction: The rumours
Fuchi, also sometimes known as Miss Fuchi, first appeared in a short story of the title The rumours in Souichi's Diary of Curses, a 1997 anthology of stories focusing on the creepy, curse-loving child Souchi Tsujii (who will appear in Dead in daylight as a Trickster skin.) In the story, Souichi tries to spread rumors that he himself is rich and famous, but the rumors are killed by his former crush, Midori. Souichi then tricks Midori into thinking that she will become beautiful if she bathes in a local swamp.
To spread the word about the swamp, Souichi finds pictures of a model named Fuchi, who has a scary, zombie-like appearance, and claims that she bathed in the swamp and is now beautiful. Midori falls for the trap, and Souichi sneaks into the swamp to photograph her. But Fuchi appears and is revealed to be a cannibalistic monster with razor-sharp teeth. She attacks Souichi when he takes her photograph; the story ends ambiguously, but Souichi presumably survives as he continues to appear in more stories.
Fuchi's story: Fashion model
Fuchi then appears in the next story in the collection, fashion model, again worked as a professional model. Notably, Fuchi is the main character in this story, and Souichi does not appear at all. Fuchi is hired to appear in an indie film produced by a group of students. When she mistakenly believes that Iwasaki, the screenwriter, thinks she is beautiful, she becomes obsessed with him.
Eventually, Fuchi becomes jealous of Tamae Mori, the film's beautiful lead, and eats Tamae so she can become the star. When the other members of the production team are horrified by her actions, she kills and eats them as well, leaving only Iwasaki alive. Like many other Junji Ito stories, Fashion model also has an ambiguous ending, with Fuchi declaring that she will “keep Iwasaki for herself” as the manga abruptly ends.
Fuchi's other appearances: Dead in daylight And more
Fuchi makes another appearance, in a short story called The Secret of the Haunted Mansion in the 2002 anthology Voices in the dark. There, Souichi and Fuchi are married with a son, who live together in a haunted house. The son inherits Fuchi's sharp teeth and cannibalistic diet. However, the story is ultimately revealed to be a nightmare Souichi had, presumably based on his continued fear of Fuchi after encountering her in The rumours.
In the 2018 animated series Junji Ito Collection, model was adapted as part of the second episode. It was here that Fuchi became infamous for her laugh, a creepy, screeching cackle that she tends to let out when she attacks and eats her victims. Unfortunately she didn't show up Junji Ito madman, the second animated anthology based on his work, which aired on Netflix in 2023.
IN Dead in daylight, Fuchi will become a legendary skin for the assassin The Artist. Fuchi appears in the game in her Fashion model lo, wearing a pink dress and with what appears to be the blood of one of her victims covering her teeth and hands. She brings new vocal lines – including, of course, her iconic laugh. With her tall, twisted appearance and killer rictus smile, Fuchi is sure to be a terrifying foe upon entering Dead in daylight.
