Pearl Abyss releases another new update for Crimson Desertaddress issues while finally adding one of their big roadmap features as well. Despite lukewarm reviews when Crimson Desert Pearl Abyss launched on March 19, 2026 and has managed to make a huge turnaround with the game. Part of that was listening and addressing player feedback through rapid updates, which have largely changed the experience and caused a surge in popularity.
While the near-weekly updates have slowed down of late, there's no denying the massive impact they've had on the experience. Don't just have these Crimson Desert updates have added new features, especially with the endgame, they've addressed major pain points players have had, while also fixing various bugs and other issues. The end result is Crimson Desert is in a much better shape than it has ever been, but while a lot of progress has been made, Pearl Abyss doesn't seem to be done. Previously indicating that it would continue to update the experience as long as there's demand, the studio has also hit on some of the bigger features fans are now asking for.
Update 1.14.00 has finally arrived and, unlike the smaller updates fans have seen recently, this one finally adds a much-requested feature. As part of the roadmap for Crimson DesertPearl Abyss has finally added a Cross Save feature on PlayStation, Xbox, Steam and the Epic Games Store. By using this feature, players can download and play their save on multiple platforms instead of being locked to one. To use this feature, players must go to the official Pearl Abyss website using the QR code from the in-game save menu and then link their Pearl Abyss ID. To activate multiple platforms, players must also link each platform account.
While Cross Save is the big feature of Update 1.14.00, the patch also offers a few additional things. Damiane continues to see improvements as a secondary playable character, with this update giving her Skystep ability the same control input as Oongka's Vertical Flight. Aerial Force Palm is now no longer interrupted when freefalling, potentially opening up more creative solutions while skydiving.

Cross Save is just one of the planned upgrades that Pearl Abyss is planning. Between June and September 2026, Pearl Abyss clarified its plans for Crimson Deserttackling some of the biggest feedback points from players, including the aforementioned Cross Save. The studio is also planning improvements to Kliff's story, combat improvements, additions to non-combat activities such as farming and trading, as well as the next phase of reblocking. But for many players, the more exciting addition is the work Pearl Abyss is currently putting into future DLC for Crimson Desert.
For those hoping to see Crimson Desert expand beyond its current platforms, Pearl Abyss is looking into it. During a question-and-answer session with shareholders in July, Pearl Abyss CEO Huh Jin-young confirmed that the company was exploring the possibility of Crimson Desert launches on the Switch 2. While there is still a lot of work to be done on a potential port, particularly optimizing and verifying the experience on Nintendo's hardware, the company believes that Crimson Desert on as many platforms as possible is very important.
