New leaks from alleged Capcom insiders have revealed the company's big plans for franchising which Resident Evil and Devil May Cry. The plans indicate that Capcom intends to continue building on the positive momentum it has built with its remakes, reboots and sequels in recent years.

Capcom's started 2026 on a hot streak, with several hit titles released in the first half of the calendar year. The critically acclaimed Resident Evil Requiem continued the franchise's streak of much-loved, well-received titles that began with 2017's Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. The soft reboot of the series paved the way for three highly acclaimed remakes, as well as two direct sequels in 2021's Resident Evil Village and the recently released Requiem. 2026 has also seen the birth of a brand new Capcom IP, with Pragmatics arrives and takes the world by storm. According to the leaked information, there are many Resident Evil projects are currently in production, including the series' next main entry. Referred to by the code name Project Redlife, Resident Evil 10 is said to star returning heroine Claire Redfield. Along with the tenth game in the series, some long rumored Resident Evil remakes were mentioned by the leaks, including Resident Evil Code: Veronica, Resident Evil Zero, and the original Resident Evil. It is alleged so RE1's remake has been in pre-production since 2022 or 2023, but has only recently entered full production.
