Bungie confirms that a controversial Playstation requirement will not be charged for Marathon, the studio's upcoming live-service extraction shooter.

As revealed by Bungie, Marathon will be launched on September 23. An extraction shooter in his core, Marathon Will have players who choose between six “runners”, which are essentially the playable characters in the game. Players will be in groups of three, with the goal of exploring maps filled with deadly NPCs and other players. Player Count varies depending on the map, but the severe murder map that was a great focus on Marathon Gameplay reveals support up to 18 players in a single match. The goal is to collect prey and escape the map alive.

Date of release for Marathon

Marathon Has a light, colorful art style, as opposed to many other modern shooting games. Players will be able to use a wide range of weapons and special abilities to take out their opponents, with some attacks that do not see unlike what players see in some of the studio's second games, such as Fate. Based on what has been shown so far, it certainly seems that fans of bungie's unique brand of highly polished weapons play have a lot to look forward to when it comes to Marathon.

With that said, there are some that are skeptical of Marathon. The comments on the trailer announcement have some people who go as far as comparing the game with Sony's failed live service games Harmony. It is far too early to tell you about Marathon Will live up to expectations or not, but fortunately fans don't have to wait until September 23 to give it a shot. A closed alpha in the game will take place on April 23 for those who are lucky enough to receive an invitation.
