Palworld: Best Dual-Type Pals, Ranked

Pal trainers looking for powerful dual-type Pals to add to their party in Palworld should try and get their hands on the following strong dual-types.

There are currently 16 Water Pals within the game, all with their own pros and cons. For players who are just starting out or even seasoned players who are looking to build up a strong army of Water Pals, it’s important to know which Pals are best suited to specific needs.

Updated on January 26, 2025, by Mehrdad Khayyat: With new Pals added since release, the Water category has also received new guests that shake up the ranking in this type a little bit.

With the Feybreak update, Palworld welcomed new Predator pals, and one of them actually belongs to the Water type. While it’s one of those late-game Pals, it’s still worth checking out the ranking regularly to set up a direction in catching new Pals.

That being said, managing Pals is still one of the most important parts of the gameplay, and it’s quite beneficial to know what services and demands each new Pal will add to the base before obtaining them.

  • Partner Skill: Surfing Slam
  • Work Suitability: Handiwork Lv. 1, Transporting Lv. 1, Watering Lv. 1
  • Drops: Leather (100%), Pal Fluids (100%)

Fuack
is excellent for players just starting out in the game as it is one of the first Water Pals that can be found. Using its Watering ability, players can start up their first farm and begin essential food production.

By no means is Fuack a powerful Pal, but it’ll be there to support players’ first steps in the world and help develop their base. Not only this, but this starter Pal is great for teaching new players the basic mechanics of the game and how to use them.

Celaray

Brilliant For Transportation

Celaray

  • Type: Water
  • Partner Skill: Zephyr Glider
  • Work Suitability: Transporting Lv. 1, Watering Lv. 1
  • Drops: Pal Fluids (100%)
  • Food Consumption: 3

Celaray
is a Pal of many talents and a brilliant addition to a Palworld team. Its gliding abilities, combined with its Zephyr Glider skill, allow players to glide quickly and for long durations of time, making getting around the map highly efficient. It can also transport supplies from place to place, which can be incredibly handy.

Like other early-game Pals, it’s not the most powerful or suited for the challenges players will face later on. However, Celaray is highly useful for transportation early on and also provides some well-needed watering for crops, making them a must-have during the early game.

Penking

Jack-Of-All-Trades Pal

Penking-Palworld

  • Type: Water, Ice
  • Partner Skill: Brave Sailor
  • Work Suitability: Transporting Lv. 2, Watering Lv. 2, Handiman Lv. 2, Mining Lv. 2, Cooling Lv. 2
  • Drops: Ice Organ (100%), Penking Plume (50%)
  • Food Consumption: 8

Penking
is more like an upgraded version of Fuack. It comes with a variety of Work Suitabilities that could come in handy for growing bases, but, of course, not enough for the late game. Thanks to its Brave Sailor skill, Penking will force Fire Pals to drop more items when they are defeated.

The damaging stats for a Rare Pal look good for Penking, as it is a bridge between starter Common Pals and the late-game Epic ones. The only shortcoming of Penking, however, is that it just eats a lot! The Pal consumes 8 units of food, which is even bigger than what Jormuntide needs throughout the day.

Whilst Surfent is mainly useful for transportation, it is also highly useful in battle thanks to its high damage output. Considering this and its mountability and watering abilities, Surfent is a very well-rounded out Pal for mid-game progression, and players would do well to acquire one.

Faleris Aqua

Fastest Water Pal

Faleris-Aqua-Palworld

  • Type: Water
  • Partner Skill: Tidal Predator
  • Work Suitability: Watering Lv. 4, Transporting Lv. 3
  • Drops: Pal Fluids (100%)
  • Food Consumption: 8

Added to the game with the late 2024 Feybreak update, Faleris Aqua is one of the Epic predators in Palworld. This mountable Pal is anyone’s dream at the moment because of its lightning-fast speed in traversal. Being the most speedy Water Pal, Faleris Aqua will take exploration on the map to the next level.

Despite having a higher speed, though, Faleris Aqua’s stamina bar isn’t as big as that of Suzaku Aqua, while consuming the same amount of food. That said, this Pal comes with slightly better ranged damage compared to the Suzaku version, though still stands behind the almighty Jormuntide.

Jormuntide

The Best Water Pal Overall

Jormuntide

  • Type: Water & Dragon
  • Partner Skill: Stormbringer Sea Dragon
  • Work Suitability: Watering Lv. 4
  • Drops: Pal Fluids (100%)
  • Food Consumption: 7

Jormuntide
is an endgame Pal, and that’s for good reason. It is undoubtedly the best Water Pal in all of Palworld, with a huge damage output that puts most Fire Pals to shame. It’s mountable, making traversing bodies of water a breeze, and it doesn’t deplete any stamina.

Its high Watering level also makes Jormuntide an excellent addition to camp, keeping large quantities of crops watered and allowing players to keep all their Pals well-fed. Whilst it is unfortunate that this Pal is only attainable at the very end of the game, it’s certainly well worth the wait for those who want access to the best of the best.
