But both are grappling with personal issues. Yukino is obsessed with maintaining her image as the ideal student, while Soichiro hides his insecurities and troubled past behind his kind and gentle exterior. When Soichiro discovers Yukino's true, less-than-perfect personality, he uses it to threaten her and make her perform some of his student council duties for him. This forces them to interact with each other, but over time they develop feelings for each other.


Yukino and Soichiro didn't fall in love right away, but as the anime progresses, fans watch their relationship evolve from rivals to understanding each other and eventually developing deeper feelings for each other.

As Tenma pursues Johan across Europe, Johan's dark past that shaped him is slowly revealed, exploring themes of good versus evil, the value of human life, and the psychological effects of trauma.
