Priscilla saves Subaru from impending doom and destroys Capella Emerada Lugunica's minions, with the visual spectacle that some of Re: Zero best animation so far. With Priscilla looking for action, Subaru sets out to exact revenge on the witch cult alongside his trusted companions.
Meanwhile, Emilia begins to look for a way out of her prison, with Regulus Corneas there to police Emilia and his wives. The exploration of the evil and vengeful Regulus serves as a secondary plot and makes the Witch Cult a much more intriguing group of misfits, with their misguided actions in the spotlight.
7 Episode Eight – “The One I'll Love Someday”
Gears are set in motion as Subaru and his allies begin their plan to stop the witch cult once and for all
In the middle of the season, episode eight focuses on setting the stage for the Counter Attack arc, with much of the episode following the war council and their plan to take down the witch cult. With the powerful Reinhard van Astrea available to fight, Subaru and his party, filled with characters from all sides of the Royal Selection, converge and set up certain groups to take on specific Sin Archbishops over Priestella.
While much is built up, some interesting details emerge, with the revelation of the Tome of Wisdom still existing and Theresia van Astrea being brought back into the fold, creating situations that could dramatically change the events to come. In the closing moments, Emilia's U-turn on Regulus at the wedding ceremony and the arrival of Subaru and Reinhard give the audience a glimpse of the all-out war that will occur, with the episode setting the pieces in place for an epic second half of the season.
6 Episode Three – “Gorgeous Tiger”
An emotional rollercoaster that sees Garfiel show his vulnerable side

Among the episode's best moments is the exploration of Reinhard and Wilhelm van Astrea's challenging relationship, where Subaru's preservation with Wilhelm on the subject is earnest and intriguing.
Despite much of the episode's comfortable and satisfying content, the cliffhanger of Subaru and the citizens of Priestella falls victim to new character Sirius for Subaru to fall back in time, a situation that the character once again has to deal with.
4 Episode Four – “Operation: Take Back the Government Office”
Subaru's war party full of eclectic characters take on the witch cult
In the middle of season 3, a war room and party are quickly established after the devastating attacks of the witch cult in Priestella. Led by characters like Subaru, Anastasia, Wilhelm and Julius, the protagonist is surrounded by many fan favorites as the team calculates their next steps. In response, a newly formed war party with an array of characters take on a group of witch cult members near the town hall where Capella was stationed.
The combination and teamwork between characters like Crusch Karsten, Garfiel and Julius makes for an epic display. However, the episode's cliffhanger reveals another sin archbishop of gluttony, Roy Alphard, making events even more troubling for Re: Zeros heroes as the arc heats up.
3 Episode Five – “A Dark Torrent”

What ensures is pure mayhem, as Reinhard, Beatrice, Subaru and Emilia all take their shot at Sirius, to no avail, with the chaotic action sequences thrilling and mesmerizing. After Sirius and Emilia's epic battle, the appearance of Regulus coming to steal the half-elf leaves the episode on a cliffhanger, with Subaru left in despair as he sees the one he loves declared the bride of the heinous sin Archbishop of Greed.

In Subaru's biggest performance of the season, the bubbly protagonist literally takes center stage, acting as the voice and representative of the group trying to destroy the witch cult. Initially, the episode begins with Al and Emilia's short but interesting conversation using communication mirrors, Subaru becomes the focus of the war party.
In one of the best moments of the season, Subaru delivers a heartfelt and emotional speech that resonates with the citizens, giving them hope against the witch cult, dispelling Wrath's authority in the process. Subaru's triumphant speech shows the growth of the characters from the start of the show, with the once selfish and ignorant protagonist finally becoming a worthy champion for Emilia and Lugunica.
