Regardless of whether you play quick match or competition in Marvel Rivalsthe actual mode you get is always randomized. There are three modes in total, and two of them revolve around a vehicle that you have to escort from one location to another if you're playing on the attacking side.

Marvel Rivals: How To Counter Iron Fist
Iron Fist can hit hard, but with the right moves you'll have him punching air in no time.
To get this vehicle moving, you must first get rid of the enemies guarding it and then stay within its radius to keep it moving. Doing all of this becomes much easier if you use characters that are phenomenal at attacking.

Bruce Banner
Hulking out!
If you've seen any Marvel movies with the Hulk in them, you'd know that it's completely accurate for him to be good at attacking. Thankfully, Marvel Rivals has retained this personality by making him an aggressive Vanguard that has various abilities to get close to the enemy's backline and disrupt them from within.
Bruce Banner has three forms with some shared abilities in each. He primarily deals damage in both of his Hulk forms, with significantly higher output with Monster Hulk. He can also knock back enemies and stun them for a long time in this form, making it a great character to push.

Thor
Pick out enemy squishies
Thor is arguably one of the most fun tanks to use in the game due to his high mobility and damage if used correctly. Thor starts with three Thorforce that appear as the hammers in the center of the screen, and each ability you use consumes this power to give you bonus health, greatly increasing your tankiness.

How to play as Thor in Marvel Rivals!
Once you have all three hammers filled, you can use the Awakening Rune ability to deal high-range damage to nearby enemies, easily letting you take a squishy character out of the picture as long as you trigger it at the right time.

Whole
No one can stop her
If you've been playing Marvel Rivals for even a while, you've probably already seen a lot of people playing Hela on both the offensive and defensive sides. This is because she is arguably the most broken character in the game with the amount of damage and utility she possesses.
In addition to being able to two-shot enemies with a headshot, she can also get away with her bird form and even stun enemies that try to get close to her. She is especially good on attack as you can just hold back and force the enemies to hide as they would be wiped out if they get in your crosshairs.
4
Iron Fist
Get in the back line
When you're on the attack side, the only thing you don't want is a stalemate where the enemies can prevent you from getting into the area around the vehicle simply by having a bunch of ranged figures constantly shooting your way. Iron Fist is the perfect character to prevent these scenarios with his stealth abilities.
All you have to do is move around the page and reach the enemy strategists or duelists. There are hardly any characters that can win against Iron Fist up close, and after you pick one of them, they have to back off and let your team get closer.
3
Spider-Man
Same as Iron Fist, only cooler
Spider-Man has the same role on the attack side as Iron Fist. The only difference is that he is much harder to use but also much more frustrating for the enemies when you play him well. This character can easily fly over enemies and reach the backline before anyone notices, but the real test begins there.

Spider-Man is one of the more challenging Duelists to play in Marvel Rivals. Here's how to become a web-slinging master with him!
Once you're in the backline, you need to pinpoint enemies and hit them with your web all the time to do more damage. The idea is to get a quick kill, get away and wait for your next prey.
2
Jeff The Land Shark
Gobble them up
Jeff is arguably one of the most fun characters to play in Marvel Rivals, and he's also one of the most impactful on the offensive end. In addition to consistently healing allies, he can also throw out bubbles that can provide massive heals to your tanks as they try to push back the enemies.
Also, if push comes to shove, you can also use Jeff's ultimate to gobble up some enemies and either remove them from the battle or throw them off the map. With Luna Snow on the team, you can also deal decent damage to this character at certain intervals.
1
Mantis
More damage is good
When you play a game of Marvel Rivals, you will see the same characters on both sides quite often. If you're on the attack and the characters on your team and the enemy are similar, the enemies will have an advantage because they simply have to sit in an area and defend, which is where Mantis comes in.
Mantis has abilities to buff both her and her teammates' damage, which can be huge for characters like Hawkeye, Iron Fist, or Hela as it allows them to wipe out enemies very quickly. Keep in mind that the more enemies you defeat, the faster you will be able to push.
