Astro Bot is selling very well
Contrary to previously published sales data, Astro Bot records incredibly strong commercial performance in two major regions.
PlayStation kicked off its latest State of Play event with some news Astro Bot trailer showing off some of the new content fans can look forward to as part of a free update coming in Fall 2024. As confirmed by the trailer, Astro Bot adds five new online speedrun levels with 10 new bots to rescue. It looks like players can look forward to a water/ice level and a jungle themed level, complete with Donkey Kong-wooden barrel. Stellar Blade's Eve and what appear to be four different Helldivers make up some of the new VIP bots that players will get to rescue when Astro Bot the update drops.
Free Astro Bot update coming this fall
While Astro Bot fans are waiting for the update, they can make sure that they have collected all the VIP bots that are currently in the game. Astro Bot has over 300 bots to rescue in total, with 169 of these special characters from other PlayStation games. Four more VIP bots can be added Astro Bot for those willing to play through Astro's playroomwhich brings the total to 173.
Considering Astro Bots rave reviews, it will be interesting to see if the new update coming this fall is the end of support for the game or if Team Asobi has even more up its sleeve. Although this upcoming update is free, one has to imagine that it would be worth doing paid DLC. After all, there are some major PlayStation characters that aren't represented in the Astro Botlike Insomniac's version of Spider-Man, for example, that people would definitely pay to have in their game.
