Assassin's Creed Syndicate gets big new update 9 years after launch

Assassin's Creed Syndicate will get a 60FPS patch on consoles on November 19th, nine years after launch. This will get the frame rate of the Victorian era inspired Assassin's Creed Syndicate on current generation PlayStation and Xbox consoles closer to what is available on PC.

After hitting the shelves in 2015, Assassin's Creed Syndicate follows the story of murderous siblings, Jacob and Evie Frye, as they build their own gang and attempt to wrest control of 19th century London from the Knights Templar. The Ubisoft Quebec-developed title is the only one Assassin's Creed the game has been released so far with two protagonists. But this particular aspect will return to the series next year with Assassin's Creed Shadowswhich will revolve around dual protagonists, Yasuke and Naoe.

Now that Assassin's Creed 2 is 15 years old, it's time to look back and reflect on its impact on one of the biggest franchises in gaming history.

Confirming a new leak from Ubisoft Latam's Twitter, the Assassin's Creed the publisher has announced a 60FPS performance boost coming to the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of Syndicate as a free patch. While PS5 and Xbox Series X players will be able to run the game at 4K at 60FPS, Xbox Series S owners will be limited to playing the game at 1080p/60FPS. Interesting, this big update too Assassin's Creed Syndicate will land on the ninth anniversary of its PC release. It also comes nine years after it came to PlayStation and Xbox, and four years after the launch of the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Also, according to official patch notes, the update size on PS5 comes up to just 0.75GB, while the size on Xbox Series consoles is 31.8GB.

To follow in the footsteps of the latest generation of games, such as Fallout 4which received a facelift on the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles earlier this year, Assassin's Creed Syndicate also finally getting a performance upgrade. The upcoming patch will enable the action-adventure game to fully utilize the capabilities of current generation hardware, thereby improving the overall player experience. In response to the official tweet, several fans expressed their excitement to hear the news, while some of them requested similar patches for other hits AC games, including Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag and Assassin's Creed Unity.

From now on, the chances are for Unit ever hitting 60FPS on consoles rests entirely on a future patch. But that may not be the case Black flagwhich is rumored to be getting a remake from Ubisoft in the coming years. While there isn't a whimper from Ubisoft about any such remake, fans can expect that to change after the French publisher releases its next big entry in the series, Assassin's Creed Shadowson February 14, 2025.
