The developers at Team17 confirmed it Worms Armageddon: Anniversary Edition will get three classic Worms games in its playable lineup, which includes entries from the SNES, Game Boy Advance, and Sega Genesis. Worms Armageddon: Anniversary Edition is a remaster of the classic turn-based PC game from 1999, courtesy of Digital Eclipse. The Armageddon of Worms remaster first launched in September for Nintendo Switch, PS5, PS4, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S consoles with crossplay support. Worms Armageddon: Anniversary Edition also features a museum that chronicles the history of the long-running video game franchise.
The Anniversary edition remaster also included the Game Boy Color version of the Armageddon of Wormsa shortened version of the game that cut out most of the features to make it portable. This is especially notable since Worms: Armageddons other versions have never been re-released before, aside from the PC version's anniversary remaster. Worms World Party on the Game Boy Advance is considered a sequel to Armageddon of Worms. Although initially well received upon release, Worms World Party has a more mixed reception these days. The other two versions of the Worms are based on the 1995 game, originally released on the Amiga, which was then ported to the SNES and Sega Genesis consoles around the same time.
Worms Armageddon: Anniversary Edition is also currently 20% off on the Nintendo eShop until November 13, meaning fans can enjoy the remaster at a discounted price. A number of Nintendo Switch games have also been discounted for Halloween, with titles such as Castlevania Advance Collection, Spirit dangers, Baten Kaitos 1 and 2: HD Remaster and Sonic Frontiers currently 30-75% off digitally on the eShop.
