All Marvel Rivals characters with stun ability

Summary

  • Use stunning abilities like the Hulk's Radioactive Lockdown to immobilize enemies and leave them open to attack.

  • Characters like Hela, Mantis, and Scarlet Witch have unique stun abilities that can be strategic in battle.

  • Ultimate attacks like Groot's Strangling Prison or Penis Cyber-Web-Snare can stun multiple enemies and set up team attacks.

When the team is having trouble taking down an opponent who is constantly flying around the map and dodging attacks in Marvel Rivalssometimes all that's needed is a quick and easy stun ability. Locking an enemy in place, even if only for a few seconds, leaves them wide open for attack, making these techniques especially useful for dealing with highly mobile Duelists, or even Vanguards and Healers trying to support their team.

Marvel Rivals: All characters that can fly

These Marvel Rivals characters can take to the skies to avoid enemy attacks, while dishing out tons of damage themselves.

While there are quite a few characters in the game that have attacks that will cause Slow, being able to completely immobilize an enemy combatant is a bit rarer, given how powerful it can be. But there are still a handful of heroes that can do this, making them a great asset to their teams by helping to make everyone's job a little easier.

Holk

The Hulk can jump to the backline and stun enemies with his radioactive lockdown

  • Radioactive Locking: Emits gamma energy to render enemies immobilized and immune to all ability effects

When the Hulk isn't buffing his teammates or standing in the line of fire to keep his allies protected, he can throw out his radioactive lock-on that can freeze an enemy in place for seconds. Being able to do this as a Vanguard makes Hulk incredibly useful.

Not only can he use it to take down any high-damage DPS enemies that cause him trouble, like Star-Lord or Scarlet Witch, for example, but he can also completely immobilize enemy healers, who can hide behind their bulky teammates. In fact, through the use of Hulk's Incredible Leap, the green brute can reach enemy back lines quite easily, meaning shutting down enemies is quick and easy, no matter how much the target may try to hide.

Whole

Hela can stun her opponents while preparing her other devastating abilities in the meantime

  • Soul Drainer: Project an explosive Hel Sphere to stun nearby enemies

Soul Drainer may only root an enemy in place for a little more than a second, but it still gives Hela just enough time to wind down her other abilities that come with long startup animations, most notably her Piercing Night attack. Meanwhile, Hela can also use Soul Drainer when she plans to make a quick escape with Astral Flock, to make sure she doesn't get caught before she can make it to the skies.

The only downsides to this ability is that it has a fairly short range, and also a long cooldown, so it's definitely not one that should be wasted. When using the ability, however, it can help to try to aim the crosshair above the target's head, as its curved trajectory means it can then fall directly on them.

6

Mantis

Mantis Spore Slumber can send enemies to sleep, even when unleashing an ultimate attack

  • Spore Slumber: Throws a spore to put an enemy to sleep

There are a few different ways Mantis' incredibly powerful Spore Slumber can be used. First, Mantis herself can throw it out when she is attacked, where it will be especially useful if the enemy is a melee-based combatant who will be sent into a deep sleep as soon as the Spore is dropped.

Family

Marvel Rivals: 12 Characters With the Most Health, Ranked

Those looking to stay alive in Marvel Rivals should give these characters a try, as they come with some of the biggest health pools in the game.

It can also be used to disable certain enemy ultimate attacks before they are unleashed. While it may take some practice to use it this way, as the range is quite poor, as long as players get close enough, Mantis' Spore Slumber will always prove to be very helpful, especially given the long duration of its effects, which can keep an enemy out of combat for quite some time.

5

Scarlet Witch

Dark Seal is a unique, but rather tricky ability to use effectively

  • Dark Seal: Land a hit on a target to generate a force field that regularly stuns enemies within range

Dark Seal is the most unique stun ability in the game, in the sense that it takes more than just throwing it directly at an enemy to work. When cast, the Dark Seal will take a moment or two to erupt in a small force field, and anyone caught in the barrier will periodically be stunned in place.

The best way to use this tricky ability is to get behind enemy lines using Mystic Projection and then unleash it when opponents least suspect it. This is an easy way to throw the opposing team off their game, while making it much easier for Scarlet Witch's teammates to land their shots.

4

Groot

Groot's ultimate roots multiple enemies at once which can be used in conjunction with his allies

  • Rigorous imprisonment: Fire a massive cluster that pulls nearby enemies into its center and imprisons them

Admittedly, Groot's only stun ability is his ultimate attack, Strangling Prison, which means it can only be used once or twice in a normal match. However, the ability makes up for this shortcoming by targeting multiple enemies at once. How it works is that Groot will throw out a wave of branches that will pull all nearby enemies into a single spot, leaving them trapped and unable to move, essentially turning them into sitting ducks.

Groot's kit is all about making him as much of a nuisance to the enemy as possible, including this ultimate attack that can work wonders when used in conjunction with other allied abilities. For example, if Groot immobilizes two to three enemies, the Punisher can then use either his Culling Turret or ultimate attack to wipe them all out in just seconds, and that's just one of many combos that can be deployed here.

3

Penny Parker

After stunning her enemies, Peni can then surround them with her deadly explosive drones

  • Cyber-Web-Snare: Throw a futuristic net that immobilizes an enemy or creates a cyber web.

The many uses of Penis's Cyber-Web-Snare ability can allow her to play some mind games on her opponent. If the web is aimed directly at an enemy, it will wrap them up, leaving them unable to move and an open target for the rest of the team. However, if Peni misses the enemy and shoots it onto a surface, it will instead create a Cyber-Web that will increase her movement speed.

Therefore, the enemy combatant will have to make a quick guess as to whether she will try to shut them down with a stun, or if she simply wants to get a buff, which can cause a lot of anxiety among an enemy team. When Peni has an enemy locked down, it also gives her time to scatter her own explosive spider drones around them to melt their health bar once they're freed.

2

Squirrel girl

Squirrel Blockade will ground an enemy in place while Squirrel Girl showers them with exploding acorns

  • Squirrel blockade: Throw an acorn away to unleash Squirrel Guards and imprison the first enemy hit.

Squirrel Blockade can be a bit tricky to use effectively as it's all too easy to overturn the ability completely. However, it's worth remembering that this ability can be recharged, so it's always a good idea to take some time when activating it, rather than throwing it away as quickly as possible.

Family

The 10 strongest heroes in Marvel Rivals

The following heroes stand out from the crowd to be the strongest of them all in Marvel Rivals.

Once the squirrel guards have hit their target, they will surround them and disable their movement for a few seconds while the other characters take a few potshots at them in the meantime. Considering how damaging Squirrel Girl's own attacks are thanks to her Burst Acorns, she can also make quick work of an enemy when she surprises an enemy with this ability.

1

Luna Snow

Luna's ice ball makes her a healer that no enemy wants to get near

  • Absolute zero: Throw a block of ice to freeze the hit enemy and restore health

Luna Snow is arguably the most annoying strategist in the game for enemy teams to deal with, not only because of her faster movement speed and recovery, but also because of her stun ability. With the press of a button, Luna can throw out a giant snowball to freeze a target in place, and since the ice shoots in a straight line, it can even affect enemies from far away when used correctly.

Of course, this ability is primarily about assisting the rest of the team and setting up free kills, but Luna can also activate it to skate out of a dangerous situation. Either way, this ability can make life so much easier for Luna's allies, while also acting as a lifeline for the K-pop star herself.
