First, Neverness to Everness really feels like it's all about fighting anomalies and running from one mission to another. But once you spend a little more time in the city, you unlock little side activities, which become a nice break from all the chaos.
These hobbies are unlocked as your City Tycoon level increases, and they become an easy way to earn Fons without doing anything too intense. One of these hobbies is Sea Angler (also known as Fishing). Below you will find how to fish, what to do with your catch and where all the fish types are!

How to Increase Bond Fast in NTE (Neverness to Everness)
There are many ways to increase your affection with characters in Neverness to Everness. Here's everything you need to know.
How to unlock fishing in NTE
You can unlock fishing by unlocking the City Tycoon system first. This happens during the Good Morning Hethereau quest when you talk to Chiz.
Once unlocked, City Tycoon becomes the place where all your hobbies are taken care of. You start with Race Challenges at level 2, and then fishing unlocks at level 3. If you're not there yet, earning Fons and completing City Tycoon objectives will naturally level you up over time.
Funds come from various activities, such as hobbies and opening safes around town. If you're trying to speed things up, we have a full guide on safe places in NTE that can help you get Fons quickly.
Once you've unlocked the hobby, open the City Tycoon menu and go to Hethereau Hobbies. From there select Sea Angler and “Go Fishing”. The game will automatically point you to a fishing spot.
When you reach your fishing spot, you will see the fishing option. Interact with it, choose your rod and bait, then start fishing. You will also see a list of fish that can be caught at that fishing spot.
You start with a basic rod and bait, but you can find out how to get better below!
How to fish in NTE
To start fishing, you need to tap the hook icon to throw the line into the water. After a few seconds a fish will bite.
You will now enter a small mini-game where you basically need to wear down the fish. At the top of the screen you will see a green bar that keeps moving left and right. Your job is to keep the small yellow cursor within the green zone using the on-screen controls.
If you manage to keep the marker inside the bar, you will eventually tire the fish out and catch it.
How to sell fish in NTE and get shell coins
Once you've caught some fish, it's easy to sell them. Open the fishing menu at the bottom of the screen and go to the Fish Hold tab. It's your repository for everything you've caught, and you can also see how much each fish is worth.
Now select the fish you want to sell and click on the sell option. You will get Scale Coins for that, which you can later use to buy better fishing gear. You can also access the Fish Hold from the Sea Angler section of City Tycoon.
Fish market in Neverness to Everness- NTE
There is also a fish market, and it is one of the best ways to make quick money fishing. You can access it via Sea Angler section in your hobby menu.
Every day, NTE picks three fish that are in high demand, and these sell for much more than usual. One memorable day I sold a Silver Arowana and got more than I expected for it. The only catch is that you can't just dump everything in there. You can only sell two of each fish, so in total you sell six fish per day on the market.
How to get better fishing rods and lures in NTE
If you plan to fish a lot, upgrading your gear makes a big difference. You can check all available rods and lures from shopping icon on the Fishing Preparations screen.
Everything there costs Scale Coins, so you'll mostly use the money you earn from fishing yourself. At the same time, not everything is unlocked immediately. Certain rods and lures will unlock as you increase your fishing level.
