How to find and defeat bears in Lego Fortnite Odyssey

While you are out adventuring in the countries Lego Fortnite Odysseyyou will encounter lots of animals to befriend and add to your villages to produce valuable materials. But in addition to these friendly pets, there are also enemies lurking in the rolling hills, and bears can cause serious damage to unprepared adventurers.

Bears will put up a serious fight before being defeated, but you'll want their precious Pelts to craft better gear. If you're curious about how to find, sneak around, or defeat these bears in battle, check out the tips below.

Where to find bears

There is two different varieties of bears in the game and each spawning in different biomes.

The are not specific spawn points for Bears so if you're actively hunting bears, you'll have to explore around until you come across one.

Be warned that Frost Bear deals significantly more damage in battle.

How to avoid bears

Unlike the other hostile enemies, bears are sleepy animals, so they are constantly found napping out in the open. Because these beasts are so formidable in battle, it might be easier to sneak around them instead of taking them head on.

To sneak around a sleeping bear, you have to activate the stealth key to make your character move slowly and silently. Here are the default inputs for sneaking, but these controls can always be changed in the settings menu:

• C key (keyboard and mouse)

• Right Stick – (Controller/Console)

Remember that if a bear does not sleep, you must also stay out of their line of sight to avoid detection.

Another good way to avoid Bears is to use a vehicle since then these cars can quickly escape dangerous situations. If you are unlucky enough to be spotted by a bear, you should prepare for a fight, because these creatures can run faster than your character.

How to defeat bears

If you decide to fight a bear, we recommend bringing the best weapons you currently own, upgraded charms, and some powerful healing items. Bears usually attack by swiping at you with their sharp claws, so remember to avoid these attacks if you want to get up close and personal with a sword.

In addition to using melee weapons, it may be easier to slowly drain a bear's health with a ranged weapon, as you can use this weapon to attack from a safe distance. A good guard weapon is Pistols because they have a knockback effect, so when you shoot it will send you flying backwards and away from those bear claws.

Don't forget to make sure you have an NPC on hand to help you fight with these brutal bears, even if their role is only bait to ensure the bear doesn't eat you down.

You can also lead a bear back to your village to get help from the inhabitants, but you risk it the bear attacks your pets.

What is bear skin used for?

Bear skin is used to make various items, including higher level Shields, Gem Musket, and some very handy Charmsall of which can be made at the Crafting Bench.

You'll no doubt need some Pelts in your quest to get bigger and better gear, so make sure you keep any Pelts you come across as some can be found in treasure chests.
