Pokemon TCG Pocket's Pokedex Promotion is available to claim

If you're anything like me, and my fellow collectors, Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket's eighth campaign slot would have driven you crazy. So far, every campaign from 001/PA to 033/PA has been available for collection, with the exception of campaign 008, which leaves an annoying gap visible in your collection.

We talked to collectors and store owners to find out why the Pokemon TCG is in such a bad place.

Thankfully, that's all changed as of this morning's update, as the 008/PA Pokedex is now available to all players.

Players logging into the Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket this morning would have received a message. Here they would have been greeted with the news that the Pokedex promotion is available to claim.

The game's developers released the campaign to celebrate 40,000,000,000, that's 40 billion (!!), cards collected by players around the world.

The promotion can be picked up from the gifts tab in TCG Pocket and will be available from January 20th to April 30th this year, so there's plenty of time to grab the card.

While it basically works the same way as the other Pokedex card in the game, allowing players to look at the top three cards in their deck, promo 008/PA is a huge visual upgrade over its predecessor. The original card shows a simple Pokedex against an orange background, while this newly released one shows the same Pokedex surrounded by four of Kanto's most popular Pokémon: Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, and Pikachu. It's a shame it's a card that doesn't get much play.

Alongside this new campaign, Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket enters an exciting period. A few days ago, the game's developers confirmed that trading would finally be implemented, with some caveats, within the next few days and that the title's next expansion would be released at the end of the month. All are coming after the dreaded five-game hitting streak event.
