How to get effects of two outfits in Horizon Zero Dawn remastered

While Horizon Zero Dawn remastered leaning more towards its moment-to-moment action gameplay, it offers quite a bit of weapon and clothing customization as well. You can often create an outfit that is suitable for sneaking around machines, while another may be better for melee or ranged combat.

There will be times when you wish you could combine the effects of multiple outfits. Thankfully you can, but there are limitations. The guide below will explain how to do this.

New Horizon Game may launch in 2025

IN Horizon Zero Dawn remasteredyou can enjoy the effects of two outfits, but this feature is not available in the original version. A recent patch for the Remastered edition introduced the transmog feature, allowing you to retain the stats and effects of one outfit while wearing the appearance of another. Now you no longer have to settle for an unattractive outfit just because you need its stats.

Prerequisite for the two-outfit method

If you want to use the effects of two outfits, there are a few important things to keep in mind. The technique described below does not work with all clothes. While one of the outfits can be whatever you want, the other must be one of the following three:

  • Banuk Werak Runner

  • Banuk Werak Chief

  • Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept (only available in New Game Plus)

You cannot use the method described earlier at the beginning of the game, because the clothes mentioned above are only available in the Frozen Wilds DLC area. Luckily, you don't need to complete the base game to access it.

Banuk Werak Runner

To begin with, reach the expansion area by defeating the new machine. If you're having trouble, you can either lower the difficulty or upgrade your gear first. Once you get to the area, look for a Bluegleam vendor (marked with a blue merchant icon) and buy the Banuk Werak Runner outfit.

Banuk Werak Chieftain & Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept

If you want the Banuk Werak Chieftain, the better of the two outfits, you must complete the “For Werak” quest, which is the third main quest in the Frozen Wilds DLC. You'll want to have your best equipment equipped, as this mission can be quite challenging. Alternatively, you can lower the difficulty to Story mode to complete the mission and unlock the outfit faster.

The process to get the Adept version is the same, but it can only be done in NG+.

Once you have the second outfit, you're all set. You do not need to continue with any of these Frozen Wilds content if you don't want to.

What to do to get the effects of two clothes

Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered Two outfit effects

First, equip whichever outfit you prefer, and make sure it's the one with the stats you want. Keep in mind that you can improve an outfit's stats with Weaves. Once you've chosen your perfect first outfit, use the transmog feature to apply the look of one of these three clothes. While these outfits don't provide additional stats, they do offer auto-heal after taking damage for a while.

This method allows you to retain the stats of your chosen outfit while still gaining the auto-healing benefit from any of those outfits. If your first outfit is Shield Weaver, you're basically unstoppable, since you rarely take damage. And on the rare occasion you do, the Banuk Werak robes' healing perk will automatically kick in after a short delay.

The healing benefit of the Chieftain and Chieftain Adept outfits activate much faster than the Banuk Werak Runners, so try to use these outfits if you have them.
